Hey guys, Now that my server's picked up some good business (thanks to all for their patronage!) I'm really interested in fine-tuning it for the best possible gameplay. So, here are a couple of questions I have for you all in the hopes that I can make my server a more enjoyable experience. Firstly, I have it running on two rounds per map. Some of my other admins (as well as some of the players) have complained that this is too much. I think that it's cool for most of the maps I have in rotation, but can be kind of tough if there's a particularly brutal game of a certain map (we had a game of Omaha that lasted for almost an hour and a half last night), and in cases like that, manually run the next map. Thoughts/input please. Second, the ticket ratio. I changed it to 115% this morning, it was looking like the 130% we had it to previously was a little much on certain maps (especially the bigger ones with slight or no bleed). Has anyone found a "sweet spot" for ticket ratios? Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks.

2 rounds seem a bit big, I know for sure that on many occassions FH maps actually last longer than BF1942's, as you said 1 and a half hour matches do seem to drag on a bit. 115% sounds fine, maybe you could drop it to 110% and see how it goes?

Despite this, I think Ive played on your server numerous times. I got to say Its an amazing server and its excellent that you are dedicating money, expense and time for the FH players.

well, i think if you have a higher tick ratio, the only one round per map, but if you have a fetish for 2 rounds, then put the ticket ratio below 100

I agree with that......no sense at all being in one map for over an hour....amount of tickets controls that.

It would be better for gameplay in general though if each map was played 2 times, so each player has the oppertunity to fight on one side. Especially for the maps that aren't really balanced.

But experience learns that most players prefer to play on a single side, and all to often the most powerfull side and not the most challenged side. With such players having two rounds is useless, because they choose the same side the rest has to stay on the same side too.

Auto balance is very much hated too, but it does prevent all too often seen scenes where the powerfull equipped side has 2 times more players then the weakest equipped side. Fragging seems more populair then tactically playing and enjoying the game.

I guess you should run your server as you want that FH is played........most like it to be fraggers/hoppers heaven, some run it with focus on team play and tactical play.

My primary reason for running the map twice is the loading times on FH. I have a pretty decent computer, and when the map delay timer is 40, I generally get in-game when it's around 36. However, in certain assault/defense maps, the outcome of the map can be greatly swayed by one team "out-loading" the other. Perhaps an increased spawn timer could be the solution to this issue?

You should really think about changing nametag view distance. Allies should be set to "low" or close... whatever is the technical term, and the enemy one should be very low or off all together. Other than that, nice server from what I've seen. I also vote to have each map played just once, it gets repetative pretty quick.

yes turn all tag so that your team can see eachother but at very low and you cannot see ur enemy's tags. Make the spawn timer at the start of the map at about ...30-40 sec, ihave no problems with loading times, im usually one of the first people there. But before I got my comp upgraded it took 2 min for breakthrough :rolleyes: I now have 1 gig of ram.

There have been previous poll-threads that stated how many rounds people here prefered.

IMO, 2 rounds is a must, with at least 200% tickets.

Agreed. These are very good settings, should be an example for every server admin.

Agree. If a map is getting boring, an admin can manage that.
