i know this is quite a hot-topic to start, and the various opinions differ allot concerning this one, but all my BF/FH experience tells me that some kind of an official ranking can only be a benefit to the dedication players put into our beloved mod!

at the moment there are some unofficial (multi-mod) ranking systems which surprisingly include even ingame ranks (without real benefits of course).

is there a chance that we can get something real FH official?

Actually to my own suprise i agree with you, I think one of the reasons that most mods for bf2 are either dead or struggles to attract players is the ranking. Since it makes no sense otherwise, bf2 vanilla is old and many of the mods are better even for arcadish ppl.

Interesting point, but POE2 has their own stats-tracking system which hasn't attracted a lot of players.

I like the idea of tracking K/D, favorite weapons/class, and other stats. I don't like badges and ranks as much.

Stats are a curse to teamplay, and will therefore pull the wrong kind of people to the game. IMO !!

I agree with blond too. It hasn't helped POE2 to have a pointssys and FH0.7 managed to attract people for years without having any kind of ranks.

Long time I was saying that stats are the worse thing ever made for BF series. Well, I'm still kinda saying it, but there are some good things.

What I've noticed is there are some interesting details for yourself to see such as time played, kits played, kit/vehicle kdr, accuracy (even with cone of fire).

Now the thing I don't like is how people tend to take these as a fact of skill and compare each other without any additional thought.. and then they go stat pad and hack.

What I really would love to see is a possibility to save the stats locally on your own computer as an easily editable data. That way, no one can brag with them since anyone can say that "nah, you've edited them with notepad!". But, you could still use the data for your own interests.

IMho id say no to global stats it would only attract MORE d*ckheads like the two i ran into on the hslan server last night

fuckEA Aryan198Blood I-8gamer

Constantly force tked by running full vehicles into tanks for 3 rounds solid and the hslan guys did nothing!

This sort of behaviour would ony increase with a global stats system like Vbf2., i mean hell i even know someone locally to me who runs a ranked bf2 server and hes proud of the fact that its a padding server!!!!!!. I told him thats utter retardation and one of the big reasons i dont play vbf2 anymore, he didnt care. Really, i think FH2 could do without this sort of thing.

Not really, though they players may be attracted for stats and ranks, it doesn't mean that they're all bad, TK without reason and use hacks constantly. So frazzbob saw a few TKers on Hslan, they are a small percentage of the community and how hard is it to IP ban them? Will the percentage of tkers/kidies go up if the community has an official ranking system? Possibly. Will it be within reason? Most likely.

What's wrong with getting a lot more quality players if we have to ban, possibly, a lot more TKers/kidies? I feel that you guys look at this whole issue in a very prejudiced light. Though you may have your bona fide reasons, you can't really tell until it's been given a shot.
