LoboLOL, all this discussion because the tommy when americans have two serious tools, called M1 Garand and M1 carbine, just ask our betatesters wich weapon they fear more in my hands playing ramelle, it has doom written in the butt. Face it, each weapon in FH has pros and cons, and the same weapon can be useless in the hands of one player and a hell in the hands of other, and once again I don't hear complains of dedicated axis players about the kingtiger.

Amen.

Its just as good as any other rifle? The only bad thing about the arisaka is the sound IMO.

Please, please please don't change the STG44. That gun will take out 3 or 4 folks on Omaha easily. My vote for the best gun in the game. However, it does have Allied counterparts since the crosshairs open up quickly.

I think the Tommy is way overpowered and needs to be changed. However the MP 40 is an accurate weapon in bursts for the upper torso.

In my opinion, the current thompson in game is too accurate, whenever I play as a German with a MP40 - I always pick up a thompson whenever i find one because of this. In real life, although the thompson was a very powerful submachinegun firing larger calibre round at faster rate then the MP40, it had a disadvantage in combat of being more inacurate then the MP40 due to low velocity rounds and heavy recoil. I remember seeing a WWII footage on TV where a G.I. in a street fires his Thompson at full-auto on a 2rd storie of a building - the bullets were hitting everywhere... I dont know if it was rather that G.I. doesnt know how to shoot or the thompson was that inacurate of a weapon

I do like the idea of 20 round magazines for the thompson :)

Spoken like a true axis player. "Mommie, make that boy stop hitting me!"

The prob is, .45 ACP round is far more powerful than the MP-40. The MP-40 is slightly moire accurate, but I've not noticed the in-game Thonpson to be iunrealistically accurate. An aimed, RL single shot could hit to 75 yards or so. (a good shot could hit with the .45 PISTOL at 75 yards.) But if you're talking about spraying a target from 100 yards, I agree, that's not close to RL.

But I haven't seen that be successful in FH. In fact, I've more often seen, say, a quick-aimed 10-round burst from a tommy at, oh, 30 yards, to more often than not completely MISS the target. Like RL.

You're right about the 20-round mags: they were by far the more available. In fact, I'm not sure the 30-rounders were avilable in ETO until the very end of the war.
