Ok, it seems i have some new and old thoughts of FH ideas and so on. ok first one: in BF2 would it be possible to have tanks as they go through hedges to push it aside rather than just goign threw it.like pushign the leaves apart etc. second: tank bouncyness. its preetty annoyign that a tanks just bounces to much when driving and gogin over small bumps and holes etc very annoyign, especially to me. 3rd. tank climbablity, why cant tanks climb for crap, its rediculas, i mean if no tank can go up a 45 degree angle then wtf. Tanks are ATV'S 4th: has my issue on tank bounce been thogh out yet or any reply form a dev? 5th:i, havign a really hard time believing that it tanks 12 shots form a sherman ( 75mm ) to kill a tiger to the rear! thats not right. it takes 11 just to put it on fire, i have proof in 2 ways. #1 i just played muese river line and i saw that our stollen sherman was pound the crap out a tiger form the rear , neither of them were moving.at least 7 shots were attempted til the tiger got blown away when i turned my 6lber on the stollen sherman. #2: i tested it out my self just minutes ago, i shot the tiger with the M4A1 and the M4A3 ( 75mm ) to the rear of a tiger geting both the same results A1 = 12 shots A3 = 12 shots, what up with that? and i was point blank my self. last but not the least: Tnak treads, are they ever going to be able to be disabled? as hartman said before he left, FH was working on disabling treads. would it be done in BF2?

Depends. Since BF2 is supposed to get proper mod support who knows whats capable. Im not sure how you would do drive through hedgerows unless they were destroyable models placed in a static model of a hedgerow. Right now the attempt is to recreate the limited visibility.

This is a SDK problem. When I was experimenting with coding tanks the golden rule was DONT MESS WITH THE SPRING SETTINGS! Mess with the spring settings or set something wrong and your tank became a superball.

This can be adjusted as I have made tanks climb what I thought were pretty well but the truth is there were few WW2 tanks that could climb very well. The Churchill was one of the few. The Churchill was due to be cancelled as a poor performer until the Brits encountered the hills in Tunisia. The Churchill was the only Allied tank that could climb the hills and provide infantry support. Same in Korea, Centurion and Churchill were climbing hills that made US M26 and M46 crews stand and watch in awe.

The US M3 75mm gun firing M61 APC ammo could only penetrate about 66mm of armor. The M71 AP ammo could penetrate about 78mm of armor. Tiger I's weakest armor was 80mm so your doing probably 1/2 damage and are trying to wear down the Tigers hit points. i was online when i saw the sherman battering the tigers rear armor. i also think although this has already been discussed that i think thanks shoudol get better amo as time goes on. not like this shemran shell will kill a tiger in one shot but enough to kill a tiger to the rear in 1-3 shots? i mean god dam 12 freaking shot??? still thats alot that shoyudkl be the fron armor, not even. look at this shermans ablitly to climb here

Psst...the tree and bushes are leaning the same direction the Sherman is, the pic is rotated.

If the round cant penetrate 80mm of armor then your not penetrating and instead are using a game glitch to wear down the hitpoints.

There are cases of 75mm Shermans firing M71 ammo penetrating the Tigers side armor. The case of the Tiger knocked out at Cecina was the tank commander knew of a weak spot on the Tiger, loaded M71 ammo and ambushed the Tiger, and even then he had the Sherman positioned for a fast getaway because he wasnt sure the round was going to penetrate the Tiger.

To do this FH would ahve to have a very small area on the Tiger assigned a weaker material map to represent the weak spot but I dont think you can assign different material maps to one surface.

....... i say that tanks shoudl not have hit point just penetrate or not. but still........ to the rear of the tiger? 80mm or rear armor?

Yes the Tiger I had 80mm of rear armor.

Keep in mind that the Tiger I was made of excellent quality face hardened armor so its real armor equivalance was said to have been equivalent to the Panthers sloped front armor, around 130mm.

And keep in mind that the M61 APCBC round was designed early in the war and was still in use in 1944, and it absolutely could not penetrate a Tiger unless it got a underside, top, or lower side hull shot but the lower side hull was not easy to hit.

I am usually playing on line on the weekends. What servers do you usually play on? I like to play Wolf and Deadmeat and wherever the clan decides to go if we dont stay on our server.
