i certainly remember the first beta :D

then we won't see it again until june. maps like this one might create more interest in custom maps, if it is advertised correctly.

The problem with servers that betatest maps is that they don't really get any players except for highly advertised events (ramelle neuville being the exception that proves the rule). if you, the server admins, add two or three beta maps, but have the most recent beta occuring twice as often as any other map, or in every 2nd or 3rd round there might be more people on the servers, as the players don't play the same map to beyond boredom.

Grass look nice ;) I hope the bottleneck in the city entrance had been removed. There were tons of engineers in that street, and few action in other places. But the map was good. Good work Otolikos!

I loved the first beta! I remeber a game, when all of the Allied soldiers layed out in ambush outside the village (of course) and the germans came storming through, ripping us to shreds. However, I didn't fire and reveal myself, and was soon stranded out by the destroyed Stug with my Colt and Bazooka. I tried to stay quiet and watched several infantry run by, firing on my comrades, before I fianlly made it back to the town safely.

Good times. Good map.

Hmm.. this map still doesn't look like the SPR Ramelle one bit. There should be more wrecked buildings, and new building textures. The giant posters and other objects never were in the movie.

anyone played German front mod for cod? they have made Ramelle down to the finest details very impressive stuff..

now this map dosent really look like the the one in the movie, but i really dont care course you know.. it looks so freaking good! cant wait to try out your mappack or whatever you decide to do with your maps.

Yeah, the map's called Merderet River. I was just amazed at all the details they had put in, I could see the house where that one guy got knifed, the place they had the .30 cal, everything. Very impressive indeed.

I had some great times on this map, I myself was in a situation like Faction described earlier.

At the start of the match like usual the 2 bazooka men with infantry would spread out into the fields while mines were layed in the town streets and BAR gunners set themselves up in the towns ruins.

I was running alongside 2 fellow americans when all of a sudden a tiger was rolling towards us, MG firing. I ducked down but one of my buddies got it in the head, the other was ran over :( I crawled all the way to the stug wreck and lay amongst the long grass while all the germans ran past, I stayed quiet and then made a break for the other side of the road and hid in the ditch not far from the large cross monument. After around 20 minutes of keeping quiet and occasionaly having some pop shots at the enemy I ran back into the town to find the allies had been pushed back to the bridge and were now being raped in and around the church.

I capped the school yard flag and then hid out in the buildings with a BAR for the rest of the game.

Another time I remember the allies were pushed back so far that the allies were fighting it out in the long grass - the other side of the map! where the 2 shermans spawn, it was madness.

@Otokilos - Will this map still feature classic fighting areas such as the entrance to the town, the bridge and the school yard? and will the map feature the brand new FH shermans and other new items which were not available when the original beta was released? :beer:

I look forward to this map along with in the hell of bocage and pegasus bridge
