SquirtikissIt is unrealistic because if you were a real soldier, you would not do this. You would ambush the tank, take your one or two shots at the rear, and live to fight another day.

How do you know? There were plenty of times soldiers would sacrifice themselves. How do you know none of those times someone didn't kill themselves destroying a tank?

I stand by my earlier statement that bots cheat more than real people, are dumb as bricks and behave more "unrealistically" than people you'll find online.

While I wait for FH to come out, I've been playing DC, and I haven't seen any of the stuff you're talking about in weeks. People usually die entirely too fast to either repair or heal themselves, the only parachutes I see are from people bailing from planes and helicopters, and I only ever see bunnyhopping when someone wants to attract attention to themselves and die.

The bots, meanwhile, stick to predefined, predictable paths; stop what they're doing to "magically heal" themselves when they get shot; "magically repair" any damaged tanks they come across; NEVER run out of ammo; usually won't see you if you're beyond their predefined sight range; and have the accuracy of... some famous guy I'm supposed to know. You can sneak up on them, and if they notice you they'll turn right around in a split second and blow you up with an anti-tank rocket. And that's another thing... please explain to me how having 75% of the opposing team carrying bazookas is "realistic". You're cheating yourself of a much better game if you only stick to single player and the occasional co-op, imo.

Notice I wrote, "you". I was specifically writing about you. I know that some real soldiers did sacrifice themselves, but not by climbing onto a tank and shooting a bazooka round into the top of it. It is really amazing to me that you could read what I wrote and totally ignore the part about tank crews being unable to defend against this in the game. None of you seem to want to admit that exploiting loopholes in the game is cheating and an unworthy way to play. Since this was supposedly a realism mod I thought I might find that people who play it actually care about realism. Obviously loophole exploitation is more important. I am quite disappointed and will waste no more time here trying find people who want to play as if they are really soldiers.

I almost hate to say it, but if you're looking for 100% realism, you're looking in the wrong place. You probably won't be able to find a game like that for a really long time, either, as it would only really appeal to something like ten people.

Oh well, to each his own...

How the fuck is jumping on a tank and shooting a loophole? It was possible in real life, and it's possibly in game. Jumping was possibly in real life, just as it is in game. BTW, next time you see a bunny hopper shoot him. It's not that hard. They can't fight back.

I don't think many soldiers jumped on TOP of a live Tiger, but I'm sure they would do what they could to get above it and shoot down, things like climbing trees or making pits for it to get stuck in or other things that can't be done in BF1942. Jumping on top and shooting down is a viable alternative. I'd glady kill myself to blow up a Tiger.

:agreed You have to do what it takes, it just takes some ingenuity and thought. If you don't like killing tanks with this or other less orthodox methods, you had better have a brainstorming session about how to kill things that are bigger than a tiger; cuz we are gonna get raped by the KT and IS2.
