in examining the "manual of arms" so to speak with the p38 pistol ingame i noticed that the slide doesn't lock back once the mag is empty. I wonder why this is? wouldn't it be easier to animate it like this "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 rounds on the 8th round the slide locks back, the players thumb hits the mag release and it falls out, the other hand puts a fresh one in and then the right thumb snaps the slide shut with the slide release.

it actually takes less steps to do that than how it is done now. My question then is this: how was the current way determined?

I agree; the current way is sort of weird and slow. I get frustrated when I am being shot at and my stupid guy is just calmly reloading the P38, taking more than 10 seconds.

This kind of gun safety was not common at this time. Even on pics from the 1980's or 1990's you can see 'professionals' that don't know that basic rule.... Finger off the trigger untill you are really about to shoot.

I think you should have the option of throwing the reloading pistol at the enemy while waiting for it to finish...

McGibs;4205528The engine will not regognize what is the "last round". so it cant lock back on the last round.

BFV has this feature, but DICE only used it on the RPG and pistols (and the Colt/TT33 still had the 42 animations) so it didn't have much of an impact :(

rattovolante;4205670This means no more Garand clip ejecting? :( too bad it was nice in FH1

Yeah I liked that Animation, too. But maybe there'll be a workaround (or is already :naughty:). At least the engine should recognize if the gun is empty and could then eventually produce that specific sound we all like ;)

On the Walther reload, he does take his finger out of the trigger guard and rests it on the front edge. It's a subtle movement, and you can still see the finger, but it's out of the guard :)
