I posted this in a questions thread, but didn't really get an answer.
Will the air feel like the 1942 air does? The reason I ask is because I've played a couple other mods with older style aircraft and in every instance they don't quite feel right. Its hard to describe, but it feels almost like you are floating around and not really flying. The WWI planes in AIX suffer form this. You guys did a perfect job with the air in FH1 and I'm just hoping that you are able to recreate that with the BF2 engine.
i also hope that.
You'll never get a plane to have the same handling in FH2 as it should be, for more realistic flying, get a combat flight simulator. (IL2 is an excellent one)
And I don't think the "Air" will be the same as in BF1942, it's a different engine and I think I heard that it's not as good as BF1942's "air". There are downsides and upsides though.
Hmmm seems like you didn't see my reply.

The maps are quite small and the Jets are actually going very slow compared to real jets.
As I am a tester I must say that the Planes in FH2 feel better every build we get. Coding the planes for WW2 with the limitations of the BF2 Engine was a great problem and I'm so happy that the devs have found a way round it!
As to reply directly to your Question, it does not feel like FH42. Its a different engine and I believe the devs have managed to get it quite well. It feels more like a simulator now than an arcade style flying experiance.
The floating around feeling exists because the BF2 Engine has no gravity for planes (iirc). This is a major problem for the devs and getting slower planes that can stall, to behave like they should is/was a hard task.

When I say air, I'm referring to the planes themselves.

Yes I did, but was hoping for some dev input.
So does that mean you lose speed when climbing and gain speed when diving?
I imagine so :)
I hope so is more like it...:p
I never noticed any speed up or slow down with altitude in BF2 since the jets go damn fast anyway and you can only go so high.
Please, please, please tell me that horrible spinning thingy thing when you go above the clouds has been sorted, I hate that. I go high to dive bomb a flag next thing I know, I have no control over my plane, I'm breaking the laws of physics, it lasts for ages depending on where I am on the map and then I have to sit though the whole "warning you are leaving the combat area" countdown, die, but have to wait AGES for my plane to respawn because its still in the air somewhere doing the impossible.
