I personally prefer text being all round - I found it fun boasting of my air combat prowess to my army. Things like 'Watch this' when i gunned down a Stuka or 2 over friendly air. Also, I got an 'Ahaaaa' From an enemy unit who I tried sniping in Mersa Matru (need I tell you where I was perched). Th near miss gave away my position and he wanted me to know he was on to me... Now climiting that to Captains and Commanders would reduce another fun factor of this Online multiplayer - Fact is, people would use it a lot less for tactical communication once the command rose is beefed up - AND, it would still serve as compensation for the former's lack - You can't every form of communication in the command rose, after all

Grab yours binocs, look at a moving tank, open the Com Rose by pressing the dedicated key, right click on the center, scroll for the vehicule concerned, left click. How could it be more intuitive than press "F1F3"?

Or, see enemy tank, pull out binocs, press/hold Q button, click, and the minimap displays the exact location of the tank. The Commo Rose spotting system is superior to the F keys from FH1 (exact location and heading > general grid spot). Although it can be buggy at times, there are some little things you can do to improve your chances of a successful spot. Now the F keys has the advantage of more selections. You could semi-command with crude communicating with the tactics tab and whatnot, compared to typing it in squad talk for FH2 (unless you have VOIP working, which is always better).

That's is not what i mean.

Sure for spotting with the binoc's, the comm rose is a big improvement.

However spotting should be improved a bit in the patch, so its a bit easier. And can also the binoc crosshair be changed a bit, now there is a vertical line in the center and you have to guess where the center of the binoc is. i find this a bit difficult for spotting small targets.

It would be easier to change the center of the binoc to a simple cross, like in fh1.

What would be easier with the binocs is when you don't have radio(=binoc) and you have to shout, its faster to hit F1-F6 or whatever. and there are more combinations. Of course VOIP is superior but not everybody uses that

But I'm sure that's how the Binocs view looked like during WW2. Could be wrong, but if it were so I am sure our cracks here would have already complained about it.

I don't believe that keykombos are possible on the BF2 engine, especially the F-Keys, since they are locked up for the vehicle seats.

So your points might be valid, but there are some problems to them as I stated above.

The idea is to optimize the Command Rose - Give it a greater sense of intutiveness if it lacks it - Say, having like or opposing ideas of Command on the same Command Rose option eg. Go, go, go AND Fall back etc, BTW, When you spot, except in COOP, you don't need to roll up to the enemy unit type, it usually automatically identifies i.e Only if you are using Binocs. Spotting otherwise, for some reason, simply goes 'Enemy Unit spotted'.... I think that should also be changed for both shouters and radio-ers The manual option select should be in the event that you need to hide from the spotted enemy, say a tank, but still radio in what you've seen - In which case, I think the devs should still get it to appear on the minimap (If you have a radio, binocs) cuz it sounds kinda silly to put yourself in harms way in order to spot a target you already know is right on top of you - Imagine this also, an enemy unit engages you and runs and hides, you spot with the comm rose, not binocs to alert of an enemy unit in th area - Having it appear, would not only let ppl know the unit in question, but where it was last seen
