Real-BadSeed;3788656A hit/miss % tracking might be useful however.

Yes, but only if you're the only one who sees it.

Points for completing functions of the game. (I.e. taking/defending flags/ obj's, whatever) Points for helping teammates, repairs, ammo, spotting, etc. (neg points for damaging stuff, to prevent farming)

Dude, it's war, you will hit stuff, it's part of life. The moment you start tracking anything, it can lead to unexpected behavior (with flag taking points, for example, I assure you it'll take 2 minutes for someone to figure out a way to abuse this.)

But as soon as you add ways to make points contrary to the gamplay, So unless the game is deathmatch, K/D ratios shouldnt be part of the point system. Until its removed FPS's will always have this problem.

None of the point mechanisms anyone comes up with is contrary to gameplay. In fact, every single one I've seen has been terribly well intended.

Unfortunately, it's like econometrics -- you simply cannot reliably mathematically and statistically predict and reward/punish individual behavior without your system falling prey to human subjectivity. It. Does. Not. Work. Ever.

On the subject of realism: The next thing we need is smell emitters, for the next level of immersion! Imagine how much more powerful fuzzy's doo pic would be if the smell was also included. Im serious, now imagine the smell of cordite and black powder ingame! Or the smell of the jungle or forest or swamp etc. etc.

Speaking of abuse, you'll re-think that idea when you smell my week-old socks, twenty marines with putrid skin falling off from acute trenchfoot, your foxhole neighbor's shit-filled boxers during his first firefight, and the dead, maggot-riddled dude who's been rotting outside our trench for a few days whom nobody wants to move (smell aside, the German machine gun a few hundred yards away acting as a powerful deterrent.)

Realism ftw, as they say.

Well i wasnt really suggesting horrid smells..lol But mild smoke, gunpowder, and enviroment smells would be good, and add to the immersion incredibly. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I agree that the stats i suggested could still be abused, but it wouldnt be so widespread with half the players camping for kills. Which is the main problem with stats in FH anyway. Im thinking pegasus with people not wanting to assualt because their precious K/D ratios might suffer. Thats what i would like to see gone.

I actually like the smell of cordite/ball propellant, but only in conjunction with just having blasted the living shit out of something.
