Has this been answered already? If so, sorry, but I've been worried about this for awhile and I want to clear it up.
When I first played BF1942, I felt happy with all the proportions; I thought all the vehicles and planes and whatnot were scaled correctly. Then, when I played other WWII games, I started noticing things. For example, in Brothers in Arms, I noticed the tanks were huge. Much huger than in BF1942. Then I saw real life pictures and noticed the tanks were huger than in BF1942 as well. And it wasn't just tanks - when I played Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, on the airfield the planes were HUGE compared to the pilots. It was the same way in Call of Duty 2 - in one level, when the planes flew by me I thought they were cargo planes before I realized they were Spitfires. Although I have no idea what the exact dimensions are, it seems that the tanks and planes were much larger than portrayed in BF1942.
If I remember right, there were several reasons why FH team couldn't make their stuff the right sizes:
1. If they made their stuff the right size, they would have to resize all of the original vanilla stuff
2. BF1942's map sizes were too small to accommodate larger vehicles and planes
However, I see both of these problems solved in BF2. Since FH team has to start from scratch in BF2, I see no reason why the vehicles, planes, and other things shouldn't be correctly proportioned (or as much as possible). Also, BF2 offers larger map sizes, so there should still be plenty of room to roam/fly around.
So is everything correctly proportioned in FH2? Or is everything still smaller? By now it's probably too make to make changes so this is a question, not really a suggestion.
I remember this topic coming up before, about proportions in bf42. I think it has something to do with the original game code, and the team did what they could, but the sizing wasn't proper in the original or something. I think thats the reason but I may be wrong. Anyway I would like to see proper sizing in FH2, mostly because BF2 is such a advanced game.
IIRC most of the vehicles in FH at the mo are proper size, I recall one of the devs specifically mentioning that the Panthers are the exact right scale, even compared a scale drawing with a screenie of a Panther next to a player, and they were the exact same scale.
yes, everything will be scaled correctly in FH2
I didn't make it!
I remember someone saying the Polish Tankette is scaled wrong but as far as other vehicles go they seem proper scale, though maybe the planes are a bit small again.
Good to hear if any of these problems exsist in FH they won't in FH2. I need me a new video card to run this game though.
(P.S. Huger isn't a word:D)

" Where in BF1942 you can only have 3 map sizes: 256 (1km) 512 (2km) 1024 (4km) In BF2 you can give each map a scale: 256 scale 1 (256m) 256 scale 2 (512m) 256 scale 4 (1km) 512 scale 1 (512m) 512 scale 2 (1km) 512 scale 4 (2km) 1024 scale 1 (1km) 1024 scale 2 (2km) 1024 scale 4 (4km) As you can see, maps in BF2 are no bigger than BF1942 maps." - Lightning[NL].
I had to shamelessly quote him since I never played BF2 and thus never got to run around on any BF2 maps.
Yeah, the Polish Tankettes are scaled wrong, Theyre too big! lol j/k but about proportions, i'm a fan of realism in games and i think realistic proportions are necessary for a good experience.

I somehow doubt that...
The infamous Panther comparison picture:
Actually I remember the exact same thread that Steiner is talking about.
Gauntlet your picture also has the car on the road and the panther on the curb, raising it another approx 6". If the picture is so infamous howcome I've never seen it on these boards before?
In state of spending a lot of time on rising all the vehicles and planes, why not just make the players smaller ? :D
