Hi guys, it's been a loooooooong time since I've posted on here, but I need to get this off my chest.

PLEASE! Will the servers turn OFF the time limits! I understand that clan servers may need them for matches etc, but when you let the public in, please turn them off as they're very annoying (not to mention unrealistic!).

This is supposed to be a realism mod, and to me, having a time limit just ruins the realistic experience. I'd rather with a battle by getting all the enemies tickets down (no matter how long it takes) than the round being stopped because the time is up.

Real battles don't have time limits, so please turn them off.....PLEASE! :Puppyeyes:

Well the ESF server for one has 2 rounds with 30 minute time limits. We have this because our members (and i garantee most public players) do not want to play on a map for more than 1 hour. It isn't about realismm, it's just common sense. If you have a map like breakthrough with a ticket ratio of 300 percent with no time limit. It will go on for about 2 hours - or more. The ESF server for one will keep the time limit, sorry mate.

30 minutes is a bit short I think, even if there are two rounds. on some maps it doesn't really start before it has taken 25-30 minutes (but when it has started...... :naughty: ).

but what's even more annoying than time limits, is when maps end after 5-13 minutes! all that loading, and then it just... ends! :( the devs probably already know this. i'd prefer bleed more of the time, but less per time (alot less, actually).

Most times it ends with tickets running out anyway. But yeah, on some maps in not enough, but I still prefer playing 2x30 than 1x60. It's nice to have a second chance.

30 minutes is cool. If you haven't established a tone for victory by then, it ain't happening.

As far as the 5 minute thing, don't some admins (mercifully) pull the pull?

I used to hate servers with time limits, but those were timelimits of 20-30 mins and so on. However, noone wants to play the same map for more then 1 hour, so servers with 1 round for 45-60 mins are just about right.

No time limit would be ideal, if maps had proper ticket-bleed. However, because so many maps have completely inconsistant ticket-bleed, some of them bleed-off in less then a few minutes (and it takes longer just to load the map)

So, servers increased the ticket percentage.... But now, there are maps with virtually no ticket bleed, and with increase ticket percentage, they last for several hours... Thats why the time limit needs to be in place

The 26. Panzer Regiment server has no time limit, this is because we go for realism. (and of course for practices). on some maps it is indeed nice to have a timelimit, but battles of 30 minutes? that's crazy, on some maps it takes that long to capture 1 flag! (with lots of players on the map). 50 minutes would be a nice time for a battle to last, maybe a little more, not less.

Bulge is a prime example of this. The ticket bleed for the Germans is outrageously fast, resulting in "battles" lasting less than 10 minutes in some cases. Even on BFE Public, the entire map, with two rounds, lasts maybe half an hour max with that bleed rate.

I'm not sure at all as to what the mapper was thinking on this one, but it needs to be changed for the good of next release.

I agree because I always loved Dead Meat for their high ticket count but that was always nullified by their retarded time limit.

I love the idea of being able to fight it to the death and until the reinforcements are dry, bring on the hurt!

I would normaly despise of time-limits aswell.

Unfortuanatly some maps have a really fucked up ticket bleed (Breakthrough for example ! I have no idea why it was messed up like that) and would therefore take hours to complete.

I think maps should be ended by ticket bleed, not time. A time limit is only needed to make sure the crappy ticket bleed maps don´t go on forever.

50 minuits is an acceptable time-limit for every map.
