Now this is not a big deal or anything but more out of my curiosity. I was wondering the other day about the No. 4 Mk. I and the No. 1 Mk. III when it comes to reloading them and how BF2's engine won't allow you to load only one 5 round clip at a time, you have to do both each time you reload because you can only have one reloading animation right? That got me thinking about the sniper rifles though. When you look at a sniper rifle's ammo count and how it fires, it's not in terms of clips but instead of how many single bullets you have left to load. As in with the No. 4 sniper you have ten rounds in the gun and 39 or so left to reload with. Instead of with the No. 4 rifle where you have ten rounds in the gun and 7 or so clips left. Also with snipers, it's possible to fire off any number of rounds you want and then load back however many it takes until you get to ten. Wherein the rifle, if you fire off any number of rounds it still plays the same reloading animation of loading the two clips and puts you back to ten. What I was thinking (and hopefully a dev like ctz could correct me if I'm wrong) is that, what if instead of just individual bullets that get loaded into the gun, you could change it to clips?.... As in the No. 4 can hold 2 clips, and similar to the sniper, the person can load individual clips into the gun instead of both at once. Meaning that once one clip is fired off (all 5 rounds) then the person can choose hit the reload button to load in one more clip. Or if he fired off both clips (all ten rounds) then if he hit the reload button the animation would play for reloading the one clip, and it would play again to reload the other clip. Basically it's like changing the bullets of the rifle to clips. And changing the animation of loading bullets individually, to an animation of loading a single clip... Do you get what I'm explaining? it's kind of hard to explain and I'm sorry for that. I just thought that maybe if it were possible it could be seen as a work-around the fact that BF2 won't allow you to load the No. 4 and No. 1 properly. What do you think? I'm not 100% sure that this is impossible.

I think if you let the gun count the clips he can't count the bullets anymore, which makes you only have 2 bullets.

Yea that's the one problem that I thought could happen, but idk... i'd love to see a workaround to BF2 engine limitations. I still have a problem with the clip not being able to fall out of the carciano after the 6th round is chambered but there doesn't seem to be any solution anywhere :( boo BF2

totaly diffrent,but: how about giving the sniperkit a climbing rope? would it make more tactical.

There is a line in the tweak of the sniper weapons thats says something like 'reloadamount 1'. My hypothesis was that that set the number of shots loaded into the magazine, so I set it to 5 (using the No.4 sniper). It, however, made no difference.

dont think so....maybe the rope is unrealistic,but the game would become more realistic.snipers wouldnt be always on the same roofs,same buildings and same places in the middle of nowhere.

Nice idea, but I doubt if ctz hasn't already fought about it... :/ Anyway, waiting for dev reply, I'm very curious about that one.

BTW, talking about tweak codes, shouldn't be "ObjectTemplate.fire.busyUntilButtonRelease 1" added to Boys as well?
