Is this the same thing as the latency compensation program packaged with the FH2 toolbox? BF2S Forums / BF2/2142 Hit reg fix Would I need to run this program above to have the same latency cormpensation when playing another BF2 mod, or is it already installed for all BF2 programs from the FH2 toolbox?
the link you posted seems very different from what the toolbox does
bf2 by default assumes your ping to the server is 100 (or something like that) now obviously most people will have a different ping than 100. so what the toolbox does is the following: - it measures your ping to the server - sets all the bf2 ping settings to the optimal settings for your ping on this one server
this helps reduce lag and makes you hit stuff a bit better
out Brazilian betatesters that play on european servers are very happy with this option.
but remember this only works for one server at a time, so if you are ingame and then switch to another server the settings wont match you then would have to restart the game with the toolbox and connect to the new server for optimized settings.

it only worked in shorter distance or tank fights for me (targets are bigger) due to my high ping :( for air combat it's impossible.
yeah well you cant expect miracles, if your ping is high in the beginning tweaking some options wont make it run like your ping is 30. all you can do is set the options to the bes possible settings

However, in the future pings will be better. Better cabling and fiber optic helps reduce ping a lot, when this becomes more common in the future perhaps people in Australia can get less then a 150 in ping to Europe.
