So we all know that only the British and German armies are in the mod at the moment (with traces of the Italians in some maps) just like the first release said was planned. However there are still some maps in this first release that deal with other North African factions. In the description of Bardia, for example, it says that it was a battle between the Italians and Australians. And Seige of Tobruk saw the German/Italians attacking the Australians. And in Operation Hyacinth I believe the LRDG were attacking the Italians (because of the Italian planes at the airfield) or maybe I'm wrong on that. And also, I believe that Lightning had said before that the Gebirgsjaeger models were being used as a placholder for the Germans on Invasion of Crete... and that the Fallschirmjäger models would come soon... But now to the point: My question was, are the British and German armies being used a placed holders just for this first release? i.e. are the devs planning to add in the Italians and Australians later on to fill these maps and make them historically accurate. Or were they just planning on leaving them as British vs. Germans. Or have they not planned on that yet? I was just looking for an answer to some of these questions, or we could just discuss our thoughts on them. This is in no way a request on what to add because I love the mod as it is now and however the devs plan it out. I was just looking for some clarity... And also forgive me because this is my first actual new thread post in a long time and I was just looking for some answers or thoughts :) thanks

When the ities are ingame, I'm sure they will be replacing german soldiers on Bardia, and perhaps a few other maps. My guess is that we will see this happen in 2.15, since all they need now is the hand weapons, some different equip loadouts on the Itie skin, and maybe the Sev. 75mm.

And the flag and voices!

We'll definitely eventually see the Italians in-game, it's just a matter of when. Probably their handweapons will be in 2.15.

Australians were integrated in the last release of Forgotten Hope 1, they'll very likely be integrated where they're supposed to be in FH2, just probably not too soon. I look forward to them, since that'll probably be when we see the SMLE as well, and all those pesky No. 4's in North Africa can be switched out for the SMLE.

Of course we hope to eventually get rid of all the placeholders and put the proper stuff in place, but I can't say that this has a high priority. In fact, nearly all attention goes to Normandy at the moment.

Do you guys still have the raw files for the Italian rifle and carbine? A straight import into FH2 would surely satisfy most people here - of course, assuming the ironsights match up, and it's not more than an afternoon's work... which, when one considers the animations, it probably would be, now I think about it. Damn.

The question is: Was the australian uniform radically from the british? If yes: well, bad luck, leave it as it is. If not: Just change the flags, perhaps incorporate the same cowboy hats from FH42 in the squad leader kit to make them a little special.

The Aussies wore slouch hats until they some reached France, then they reluctantly gave them up for Mk II's.
