I have a couple of questions after the first few weeks of playing FH2. 1) With the rifles I have found through trial and error that aiming the tip of the ironsight at someones head will miss, but aiming at the knees will kill. Is this intentionally programmed in - i.e. is it that the gun is sighted in for 300 yards so that at close range you have to aim low, is it that the actual center of aiming is above the tip of the ironsight, or is it something else? The one time I tried to use a sniper rifle I unloaded multiple clips on a stationary standing target (while I was prone) and didn't get a hit despite aiming at, above, or below his head. I don't know if there is something screwey with my aim detection or what the issue is. 2) Airplanes: Is there a way to set up my joystick so that the freelook is controlled by the directional viewing button on the joystick instead of the mouse? If there is I haven't been able to figure it out.

Rifles hit pretty much above/on the tip of your ironsight (depends on the ironsight you have and how it works), you can just use the ironsight as you would in real life with that weapon. You will have to take into account bulletdrop though and lag (when playing online), though the later would be mostly corrected if you use the FH2 toolbox which has a feature correcting your aim according to your ping. Not sure at which range they are sighted though. "Avarage/usual" range I would say whatever that is for whatever weapon you are talking about... =p

So at long distances you should aim above where you want to hit (how much I can not tell, just practice). At closer ranges the ironsight should be dead on.

When I laydown, aim with the sights and shoot my rifle (I prefer the K98k over the Lee Enfield) the tip of the ironsight pretty much matches where the bullet hits on the wall a little bit away from me.

You being from Texas should have no trouble figuring out how to fire and aim with these weapons. (Just joking don't shoot me! I'm not on your property!).

Good idea, I'll practice shooting at a wall and see what it does. One question I forgot - now that the rifles have iron sights, do you still have to wait for invisible reticules to close or can you raise ironsights and have them right on target when going from running full speed?

This prevents people from raising there weapon from their hip to eye level (instantly) and also instantly have a perfect aim, that would be unrealistic, you are required to take a second or two to get your aim perfect (your weapon will continue to sway for a bit though even after a few seconds since it's pretty much impssobile to keep it totally unmoved and dead straight like a fixed laser gun).

You may wish to check out the FH wiki. It contains valueble and useful information: Main Page - Forgotten Hope Wiki

[quote=FH2 wiki]Use the keys W A S D to move around, and aim with the mouse. Fire with the left mouse button (LMB) and use iron sights by clicking the right mouse button (RMB). Use the mouse wheel to view and select items in your inventory. Alternatively the keys 1 - 9 can directly select an item. Use the R key to reload your weapon. The accuracy of weapons is greatly improved when using iron sights, crouching and lying prone. Accuracy increases also when you remain still for a few seconds.

Some basic training videos where also shown in FH newsupdates (see the main site @ www.fh2mod.com ).
