That is the reason I do not play on Wolf these days...

1. I get pissed by all the bitching 2. The Auto team balance switches me when I am in a tiger... 3. I get real bad lag....

It's really getting tiresome to play on servers with a gazillion tickets on each side, 45-60 min timelimit and maps such as Breaktrough & The Storm.... When the allied have taken all the capturable spawns on those maps I usually quit, or change team trying to force it all in the other way. But then I have to endure a thousand "Uh, spawnraper" "Not fair" "Bi4tch, my tank" "No spawncamping, this is the 342 warning"

In my honest opinion, in assault maps the defender shouldn't have any uncapturable spawns. It destroy the whole purpose with the assault. Three biggest jibs I had with Dice's original game is 1) Hangarcamping&repaircamping (but they solved most of that after intense whining from us in the community) 2) Planes are too powerful (can be solved with mapdesign though, another problem of Dice) 3) And finally, Spawnraping. In vanilla, on most maps, a round is usually decided in the first 1-2 minutes of play. The rest is simply keeping the enemy force contained in its mainbase.

All our tactics were based on several Blitz scenarios where we took control of keypoints, and then spawnraped the hell out of the enemy.

Anyways (got kinda off track there) the game is geared towards spawnraping when there are uncapturable bases. There is not much to be done there, unless you either stricly always forbid people to be within a certain radius of the uncapturable flag. But then you don't solve it, you just move the rape area. The second option is to remove uncapturable bases. Make the 'mainbases' take as long as in Prokhorovka to capture _or_ make it so that it's only capturable after all the other spawns are taken.

Bah... I think too much...

really now? i seem to recall vanilla never being quite as hopeless as it is in fh when all your spawns are gone and you're limited to 1 base. probably due to the fact you both have the same, weak vehicles so a breakout is easy to pull off

This is exactly why I play mainly on the 9th infantry server. I've played some form of Battlefield since it was released. I've spawncamped and I've been spawncamped. It is a part of the game. People whine way too much.

Im guilty of gatecamping on Breakthrough. I have sat outside the gate waiting for the Germans to come out but I felt it is wrong to go through the gate.

If gatecamping is outlawed on Wolf I have no problem with it.

Yeah exactly! WOLF server is great because it's almost always full and has a decent ping, but it's got too many noob-only-friendly rules. It severely restricts the gameplay for anyone that is not a noob/average pubber (and yes, if you can't overcome being basecamped, you are a noob/average pubber) For example: "no spawncamping rule". It's a good rule with good intentions, but when it's enforced correctly. If the team is actually spawn camping, then something could be done about it by the admin. But that's not the way it happens on WOLF: someone whines about basecamping, and admins kick that person without actually checking what he was doing. What about all the different tactics which envolve the player being in the enemy base, but not actually basecamping? What about recon? What about sabotaging enemy equipment? What about stealing enemy equipment? What about mining the exits from thier base? What about spotting thier base for remote artillery (and sometime for the scout to stay alive, it's imperative to hide in the enemy base). All of this tactics are impossible because, as someone metioned: you just drive by in a jeep and you get kicked because some pubber started whinning. Another example: "no taxing rule". I get killed by Tiger rolling into our outpost. I respawn all alone in the main base, and grab a jeep to get as quickly as possible to the plane so that i can take off and bomb the Tiger, before it actually takes over out outpost. And ... i get kicked for "taxing"... Yes sure, kicking me for taxing and letting the Tiger get that flag helped my team so much. Rules are good. And a lot of servers have "no base camping" rule. But rules must be enforced with brain, not with an automatic kick at the whine of a pubber

I agree, first it was basecamping, now gatecamping -- should we consider Saipan and Iwo Jima "island camping." What about bridge camping -- a lot of that goes on too.

I understand about staying out of the enemy base, but if your teams sucks so much that you get pushed back there, you're fair game as soon as you leave. If I can shoot you coming out of your gate, then you can shoot me -- it's all fair. Besides, on Breakthrough you've got air power, get your pilots in the air and take out the tanks at the closet flags.

Quit 'yer bitchin and just play.
