Bloodywall;4240158I feel your pain, as last nights games on Wolf seemed to be all about the tank campers. They would leave one flag and not take it and then sit back and spawn kill to no end. At one time last night on Mersa Matruh I counted 6 German tanks camping the lone flag left. I actually did not spawn for about 5 min. because of it. Once a stray squad was able to get another flag I spawned there, got on a 6 pounder and went on a tank killing spree. I got 8 tanks in a row before one got me. lol
Flag camping (camping the last flag and not taking it) is such a BF2 vanilla noob tactic and it's sad to see all the stat/score whores that use it even in FH2. However, most rounds are not like this and most the time it seems to be a fairly good game play that is seen.
Keep trying. Try tanking. Learn the fine art of Mines. Don't even waist your time on the anti tank guns, as they only work on small vehicles.
I hate that too ive seen so many rounds where the armour has just stopped and camped constantly its no fun at all. Maybe in the next release there should be LOTS more tank obstacles so its infantry that has to take the flags and tanks can only get a minimum of 100 mtrs from the flag zone? Lets hope there are plenty of panzershrecks and bazooka this time around eh :D
as a reply to the person who was talking about Wolf, that's the exact same server I was playing on because it was the most populated The problem is the tanks aren't actually capping the flags, they're just sitting there and gunning everyone down, and since there's only, oh, 13 people on a side, it's likely that flag isn't going to be taken in a hurry BUT, I do admire the amount of effort put into this mod and I will probably continue to play it, I just wish some new maps would come out soon ;(
P.S.: I was probably one of those lone squads who took the next flag ;p desert map with the big plateau in the middle? I took my squad on foot and we ran up the side of it and I hid behind a rock as they took the flag lol The commander for our team was like 'TAKE THE OTHER FLAG' the one we had been trying to take on the mountain and i'm like psh no and he's like you have your orders!! then he quit the game ;p
LordDanalik, I have to agree with you that FH2 doesn't provide me with the same amount of enjoyment and relaxation that I got from FH1.
It's fun with a good squad though.
I actually went the entire game 0-23, eventually me and my friend got a jeep, went to their main base, my friend shot them all and we both mined all the tanks, so my one kill that round was a crusader tank mine camp.
I believe you mean "My friend and I."
european servers FTW!
Well Bardia is a rather odd map. :-D Matilda is not a Crusader. (He says 3 tanks. So I assume they are Fiats)
LordDalanik;4239896ok, first off let me say I'm a big FPS/strat/etc. gamer that's played a lot of games and mods, i'm not a random noob..... Most maps turn into 10vs10 or 15vs15 which turns into a tank camp, where you will get K:D records resembling 5-23, or 3-28.....
No, not a random noob, but you still haven't grown out of being primarily interested in your stats. That is unfortunate, because the making and keeping of stats is, in the opinion of a sizeable segment of the FH community, the biggest single defect in the game/ mod. Bottom line: stats and FH2 are not a good mix.
Die Happy;4239975']keep playing, the learning curve is a bit steep and it takes time to know all the stuff and how to use it wisely....
Actually, I think you mean the learning curve is not sharp. A sharp curve represents a very large gain in a short amount of time; technically, what most of us in FH2 have is a flat learning curve, since it takes us so long to improve.
But be of good cheer - the learning curve confusion is so widespread that your application of it is probably more widely used!
Unless of course you relabel your axis. Make the graph time versus learning and he is correct. It is steep. Yay for math and arbitrary labels. Stats do suck, but people will still camp for the simple fact that they are ruing someone else's fun. Not much can be done about that, I'm afraid.

Yeah we gotta end the ambiguity, and steal a line from Sgt. Stryker, USMC - "FH2 is hard; it's harder if you're stupid."
