your the one who mentioned rank(i.e score) should be determining factor on who gets to be commander.

of coarse ive played the game im already learning the editor :D

sidtheratand you realy think that commander is so hot function? more then less i can take an empty comm seat after randomly joining game in progress. people find this part of the game BORING. and dont do it..

Great point, all the more reason to LEAVE RANK OUT OF IT in any way shape or form. Playing commander is no different from, say, running the GPA on Saipan or playing engineer to fix people or driving the munitionspanzer on Zitadelle, whatever. It's thankless, you don't get to kill people, it's a support job, but hey you know what, some people enjoy doing it to help their job win. And the person who thinks of it that way is as likely as not to be fairly competent.

@sidtherat actually i was responding to kadings post, he mentioned that stats should determine who can be commander. thus my previous reply :D

the part about me playing the game was directed at you.

i dont like the commander or squad aspect of bf2 at all. part of the reason i wont play bf2 anymore. that and the built in wallhack crap....make it a joke for a fps game.

ok, confussion resolved :)

i dont know about wallhack, with built in UAV/commander spot/spot system wallhacks are mostly unusefull. the only type of cheat that would allow for a bigger advantage would have been texture tweak, painting enemies glowing red or something. i think that PB deals ok with damage/accuracy system.

squad system works much, much better then i thought before. it is an opt in system, you can use it, but also can go your own way. commander is a vital link in a chain that is called 'teamplay'. it allows pleasant game on huge maps, it allows moving with some objective in mind, not blindly checking bushes for that hidden panzerfauster.

it is a bit arcadeish, as this isnt 100% real, but it makes this game much more pleasant to play. it is a game anyways. i know that some do not see the real value and power of commander position, as maybe they have seen commander missused [flying/tanking commander ://] or poor commander. when a team is competent enough to provide basic level of protection to intruders in main base, being a commander is pleasant and very responsible duty. i like doing it, especialy on maps like fushe pass, where predicting enemy' movement is realy important.

i cant imagine bf2 without commander position, and i hope it is going to be incorporated somehow into the fh2. without magic uav, but with other tools, like ie. smoke screen, or booze drop to distrupt enemy movements:D
