just thot i'd give you a head's up: on counterattack 1940 the matilda is all but invincible. the stug's gun is too low velocity and the panzer38 has to light armor to put up a fight. i descovered it when i was in the middle of a field with my matilda I to see how its armor stood up. sure enough i lasted for the rest of the map without moving and taking about 60 rounds from all sides without taking any noticable dammage.

Yeah, so? It had gobs of armor. Gobs, damn you!

Looks like I just missed this in the rotation. Whew, that map can be really boring. I trust Erich died a plenty.

It's good on later maps too. It's not hard to take out a Panzer 4f with it.

wow, great team effort, did your team win the map? Welcome to a realism mod, the matilda 1 was almost indestructible in 1940 except for Flak 88 and infantery AT

Now you know why the British Matilda II's at Arras counterattacked and routed all opposition before them until Rommel ordered the 88MM FLAK18/36's brought up as AT guns and knocked out the Matilda II's.

The Matilda II was also knicknamed the Queen of the Desert in North Africa until the Germans started using the 88MM gun as a dug in A/T gun.

Why all the references to the Matilda II when he's asking about the Matilda I? They're 2 totally different chassis/tanks.

There's a matilda II in counterattack as well.

All matilda's have crap armourments though, in real life youd be lucky to knock out a Panzer II with its shitty 2 pounder, if it was equiped with a 6pdr then the Poms would have had a definit advantage in armoured conflicts.
