Played this all-naval map for the second time last night. Pretty cool, IMO. Back when 1942 came out, I always maintained that there should be a dedicated naval map, and FH has one! (great minds....hehe)

My only complaint was that the Hood seemed a bit overmodeled. That is, it was extremely durable compared to the German vessels. We all know what happened to the real Hood, of course...

Then again, maybe it had re-spawned...But I don't think so.

The long load time on the battleship main guns is no doubt accurate, but extremely frustrating! Lined up on the enemy, waiting for that meter to crawl to the top....

I think he's just voicing his praise of the map, I like it too.

The Hood was not a bad ship, the Bismark just got a lucky hit in its most vulnerable place, a place that was supposed to have been uparmored in the Hood's next update. The BF1942 engine doesnt do a good job of replicating plunging fire from 2 or more miles or kilometers away, we are reduced to using modern ships in old fashioned broadsides at 500m..which has its own brand if fun.

Im happy to see that the naval map is more and more popular. A few versions ago no servers ever played Atlantic :(. Now things have changed, obviously. Might have to do with the facts that the map does not lag like Atlantic did, theres more ships, they have crosshairs (explaining why there is less ramming, too) and the battleships are radars. At least, this is why I like Rhuenuburg right now :D. And the Hood is fine ! Its my favourite ship! :)

This map is one of the most, if not the most boring map in the mod.. To me, at least. :p

Are there any plans to update this map in the next release? Perhaps to include repair ships to run along the battle group? As cranking the wrench all night long will do practically nothing to help out the Bismarck or Hood.

I agree. Repair ships have really made fleet tactics viable in Midway. Rhineburg could use that strategy boost as well.

The Wildcatfish is on Adak at south end of the island.

There was a FH update that mentioned a German supply ship that will repair and reload the ships. 112%20-%20dithmarschen_render_2b.jpg

I also think it would be cool if destroyers were faster and more manuverable and could lay smoke.

EDIT: Oh and BTW...I WANT A TRIBAL CLASS DESTROYER!!! 214photo.jpg

It should be an ojective map, not a flagchaser map. This map also needs some sea patrol/torpedo/depth charge bombers like fw200, he115, and wellington (?)
