Are you going to be able to throw the satchel charges or ar they just going to plop out there like the TNT sticks? For example in RL the charge had a strap which you could get some leverage and toss it.

I think it's going to be longer than the expacks, but much shorter than grenades.

they are both thrown and placed in real life. i dont think you can have it so that both can happen in BF. but id rather see them be placed. if they are tossed then all you have is a supergrenade that you can explode over the baddies.

Have you ever played red orchestra for UT2k4? You pull a wire throw the satches charge and wait 10 secs then boom.

The mine laying animation is used, none of this exp pack sliding along buisness.

Real satchel packs are quite chuckable, at least inside the openings of bunkers ect. And what are you talking about not able to throw and place things in BF?! You can place and throw grenades. Easy as pie. In fact you can throw a grenade anywhere between 0 and max range.

Here is my idea how they should work: As satchels are heavy, it should take longer time to throw them any further than your own feet. A bit like knee mortar secondary fire... And the max range shouldn't be too long. Basicly enough to throw one on top of a tank while standing next to it.

Well they are placed (you can't throw them very far at all, like distance of chucking an expack i'd say). Once you throw them clear out or you'll be toast :)

Oh and smoke comes off them when they have been set.
