mhh... I am actully starting to agree with Rathole here and as he says the satchel isent even meant to blow up tanks. but I also think the satchels are a nice way to deal with the expack whoring and im pretty sure the satchel will never be used like that + the satchel was a real weapon in ww2 unlike the expack witch i doubt there where many off..

maby it should be random for the engineer to get a satchel? but even better.. class limit!! that would make the end of any whorering (sp) I relly think that is what Fh needs to be relly great!

Well, if you stick a satchel between the tank chasis and the turret it should destroy the tank. Putting it under a tank might also work.

BAMnot talking about the bug exploit on crete wich im not gonna tlak about cuse pepole will just use it .. but i think that the sachtels are better than the EX packs since its harder to kill a tank ..

I have an idea what it could be....

I don't see why people are saying they are overpowered anyway.

On Goodwood yesterday I laid two on a panther (not on the ground, but on the tank itself). When they went off, the tank kept moving. Two guys were in the tank. One jumped out to repair, I shot him, took his kit, and put two more on the panther. They blew and it finally started burning.

I'd hardly call this "overpowered".

BTW, when the second guy jumped out to repair, I shot him too, repaired the panther, and proceeded to capture the last flag -- MORAL: NEVER GET OUT OF YOUR TANK

I'm perfectly happy with the engie and his satchels. Sure, maybe satchels didn't account for a large # of tank kills in WW2, but look at the number of kills made by AT weapons ingame, it DWARFS the kills made by artillary, planes, or other tanks. I'd say the ratio between tanks killed by handheld AT and satchels are fine. Plus, it's fun as hell.

One thing I'd like to see is a selectable class with mines, even if it is random. No replacing the satchels, or even making them random. I like them too much :)

I think the satchel charges are a little overpowered. Instead of a single satchel blowing the whole tank skyhigh, I'd rather see it disable it instead (of course light tanks being an exception). This is basically what Finns did too. The tanks were disabled by molotov cocktails and satchel charges and captured afterwards. In my opinion the projectile AT weapons should still remain the primary anti-tank equipment for the infantry.

This is something I could agree with. The lack of mines removes much of the fear the jeep-ninjas used to have.

striderx2048i say random getting satchels or getting mines
This could be a good compromise. I like the idea of randomizing it to make it a little less desirable for people. Maybe even adding another option (shovel?) or tweaking the odds of getting the satchel to really make it less desirable.
I'm perfectly happy with the engie and his satchels. I really like the BFG 9000. So, I think it should be in the game. I'll use it all the time. Oh wait, nevermind, it's not realistic. My point being, just cause you like something, doesn't mean it's realistic or should be a major factor in the game.
