So there I was on sector 318, playing on the allied side. I am defending the middle flags with my trusty Greasgun + satchels. Along comes a german in a stolen Sherman. He parks it at the flag to try and take it, so I sneak out of my hiding spot, and come up behind him. I lay down 2 5 sec. satchels on the rear grill, and run for cover!!! BOOM! BOOM! They both go off....and the Sherman is not only still alive, but it's not even smoking. Is there an issue here? This isnt the only case of this I have experienced. Has anyone else been affected by this?
Maybe he drove foward a bit and the sachels fell off. I do it all the time when I hear the "klank" sound and then I ram full throttle and sometimes the sachels just fall right off.
In this case it was the Jumbo....but it's happened numerous times on the Panzer IV.
dont put them on the tank, try and put them by the tracks
Eagle Onedont put them on the tank, try and put them by the tracks
A satchel layed next to the track does more damage than a satchel layed on the tank or thrown under?
I could be wrong, but I doubt a HE weapon would have much effect on a tank. Realistically they were largely immune to all but the most heavy artillery. Thier crews were not, but noone would wuss out from a satchel.
I've always had more luck throwing the satchels on the back on top of the engine grill. Knocks them out every time.
Maybe the tank was on the opposite side of the flag pole.
I wish there was a way to remove the "KLANK". It's very frustrating to finally get the satchel on the tank -- on some it's very difficult -- and then suddenly the guy drives away and it falls off.
I know a lot of guys don't like satchels and while I'll admit there are issues, I still like them better than the expacks.
As to the question, I've never had a problem taking out anything but the heaviest tanks with a couple satchels.
