Hey Fellas, Now I don't want anyone taking this the wrong way because I have a tremendous respect for not only the crew involved with this mod but also the immense work that needs to be overcome in order to get this to the masses.

However, this is begining to be a tad concerning. I am now selling one of my dual Opty 275 servers (specifically purchased to host many FH2 servers at my gaming ISP). My intial intention in building this rig, was due to me and I'm sure many here, that we would see a .01 release sometime in late spring or early summer. It's the nature of the beast of hosting servers to take a chance in being the first out the door but in this case thankfully I am selling the rig for the same amount I paid for it. So there is no loss on my part.

I can very well understand that it is in the best interest for the Dev group to have ZERO contact with the outside world on anything in relation to the project and more especially handing out a time frame..but good Lord it's been a year already.

It would be a tremendous help to us server Admins (especially now since server processors are getting ready to take a nose dive) and enthusiasts (with Core Duo 2 and incredibly low prices on AMD processors) to have some clue about the game we all will be playing exclusively in the coming years.

We don't need an exact date, but at the very least you could give a quaterly estimate like fall 2006 or late summer 2006 ... wow at least give us something!

Everyone here is a dedicated and devote fans and I realize that the Dev group owes us nothing ...but common Fellas throw us a freaking bone already.I will of course continue to purchase servers for this game in my operation but I sure as hell am not doing it before the initial release in order to have many ready during launch day.

I think you just wasted some valuable minutes of your time writing that, as you could have just asked when the mod would be out and get the same answer as everyone else does:

Nobody knows, not even the devs.

If they'd just blamed out a date like the Q4 of 2006, and won't finish it people will get very dissapointed and complain, so they as for now they won't say a thing as they don't have a clue themselves when it's done.

I feel your pain as well. But the "bone" you are asking us to throw, amounts to a request that we lie to you (if you prefer I could put it that you are asking us to make a guess that is based purely on wishful thinking). Uncertainty is painful, but would disinformation really be better? More detail: http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=236047

I think this is a very good reason why NOT to give an estimated release date. When we first began on FH2, I would have guessed the release to be somewhere in the summer, but as you can see, we're not quite ready yet. If we gave you an estimated release date now, you could have the same problem on your hands again!

Also, we give plenty of information on our progress to "the outside world" as nearly everything that is finished is shown in our weekly news updates.

As far as I know, they still have a long way to go (havent started beta-testing yet). Oh, and if you had been a little active around these parts, you would have read that before buying a server to be used exclusivly for FH2 hosting. You have no-one else to blame but yourself.

Sorry, but thats the bitter truth.

Sell your server to Wolf. They could use it. The one they have now can barely run FH.

The reality of this modification is and has become a great endeavor. This is going to be a gift from the FH2 team to the general public. A project of this maginitude and detail, in the real world, is usually handled by IT proffessionals getting paid to complete a product for world distribution. All of us should pay homage and thanks to this group for the effort and personal sacrifices they make in order to create, which could be, retail material. I know there is a great deal of members and followers that feel the way I do. With every new product released into the gaming community comes these "when is it going to be done" questions. Development teams, which provide a product for commercial sale, are given deadlines for product completion. Shipping dates or completion dates is a standard in this marketplace which is known by the consumer because the manufacturer has released the pertinent information. With that in mind, I think it is only fair for people to be curious when the date of release is since it is a common practice within the gaming production arena. It may be justified to ask the question but the reality is that they are showing us everything that is complete with each news release. As much as the devs and loyal fans are upset with the reoccuring questions, this is just a part of the angst that follows. I too would like to know when it's released but I also recognize that this is a volunteer based project that is not for profit and it will be completed when it is finished. My only fear is that because of the time it has taken to get this far without any time frame of being done is, what will this mod contest with. If MOH:A comes out at or before this mod is released it will hurt it's potential growth. "I think this is a very good reason why NOT to give an estimated release date. When we first began on FH2, I would have guessed the release to be somewhere in the summer, but as you can see, we're not quite ready yet. If we gave you an estimated release date now, you could have the same problem on your hands again!" I can appreciate that very much. I think that asking when it's done is unreasonable. However, I would speculate that you have foreknowledge of what you plan on including on the initial release. Is there anyway to give us a percentage of what is completed for the first release? Not that I am expecting a "time frame" to go with that, maybe an idea of how much of your work for the first release is completed.

Can you at least tell us how much you are selling the server for so potential purchasers can make a decision? :p

(btw Stranger, I love your "new" avatar! :D)

People thinks we are secretive dudes and we love to annoy you keeping secret an hipoteticaly perfectly organized release schedule ...well, it's true partially, we love a surprise more than a dog likes a bone.

But "When it's done" is the only honest answer to that question because we don't know when it will be released, neither exactly neither roughly

But I can lie you if you prefer: we will release tomorrow, get ready
