I stand my ground that a lot finer than T-34 anyway ;) Anlushac was right though, it doesn't need to be a 100% remodel, even though that couldn't hurt. Just a similar touch-up with slight model changes and a few great skins as done to Shermans would already be a lot better than the current situation.

Anyway I think this is getting quite off-topic from the original topic

Yeah the Shermans look great. The Panzer IV series and T-34 series could use a touchup though. The PIVH skin that's bright green is kinda out of place.

Yeah true, the Panzers could look better too. And that poor lil' StuG III B... :uhm: BT-7 is another obvious one. So yeah... aside from adding SU-152 and Panzer III that are very important vehicle, in my opinion it'd be in a way nicer to have these old ones "fixed up". Of course it's nice to get new vehicles to play with, but also using a Matilda II, for example, is now much more fun because it looks so cool ;)

Without getting into alot of details, there are 3 basic Sherman hulls

Cast Hull - Used the rounded front and was typical of the M4A1 Sherman http://www.missing-lynx.com/gallery/usa/m4a1_jaewoonhong.html

Welded Hull - straight edges. This is the version we have now and is typical of the M4A3 in game now. http://www.missing-lynx.com/gallery/usa/m4a3_early_cheehongahn.html

Composite Hull - Used a cast front section which was then welded to a welded rear section. Check this link and if you look closely on the side toward front you can see the seam on the side where the two parts were welded together. http://www.ww2modelmaker.com/images/DWm4a3sherm/3.JPG

I guess we are. but what i woudl do is make the models of the varients of the shemran and put them in mps where they were introduced example: i belive in cam out in 42 or 43 the M4a1 coudl start there , then so on and so on . look at your pictures and the regulare sherman in the game . ugh the sherman needs to be redone, in my opinion the pics are very detailed oposed to the sherman in the game.

The introduction dates of the M4, M4A1, A2, etc... were only months apart. Variants in the game should be determined by who used which the most. The US Army mainly used the M4A3, the British/Commonwealth mainly used the M4A4 and the US Marines and Soviets only used the M4A2.

I still don't see why, with all the other modifications to other tanks in game, the Sherman models still have that box on the back of the turret.

The first Shermans used in combat were the M4A1's with the cast hull at 2nd El Alamein.

The M4A1 was still in use at end of war and some versions recieved the 76mm gun, wet stowage, and HVSS suspension.

As for box on back of the turret, which model are you referring to?

The Sherman Firefly had a armored radio box welded to the back of the turret and then had a steel counterweight welded on the back of that tot offset teh barrel length of the long 17lbr gun.

The Sherman Jumbo had the extension of the back, often called the duckbill turret, because the the T23 turret was designed with the counterweight integral to the turret construction to balance the long barrel 76mm gun.

Th' improved models are all fine & good, but I say.... fix the damn pick-up kits first! I think charging through enemy controlled-territory to pick up the precious STG44 of the guy you just sniped, only to realize's it's actually a craptacular MP40 before getting killed is just a SMIDGE more annoying than the turret looking wonky. But that's just me.

I think that all the variets should be placed in to give more detail. that flat front of the sherman tank is getting old . i think that the M4A1 with its rounder hull should be in early maps or be rarein late maps and put each variet with its army as said before by Smooth BM. i mean com on the regular sherman inthe game(m4a3) is getting old time for new desigh and look.

i tried the link in school its too slow so copy and paste!.

http://images.google.com/imgres? imgurl=http://history.serw.com.pl/muzeum/img/sherman.jpg&imgrefurl=http://history.serw.com.pl/muzeum/sherman1.html&h=313&w=500&sz=21&tbnid=26uJHcSTdy4J:&tbnh=79&tbnw=126&start=5&prev=/images%3Fq%3D%2Bsherman%2BM4A1%26hl%3Den%26

if it does not work ill repair it after school.
