Lt Luger I can't understand why you have too see your own individual score in order to have team work?

Seeing my score tells me whether or not I was productive or counterproductive. If I get a medal there is a sense of satisfaction, if I don't, I hopefully still had fun which is the only thing that really matters to me. If there was no scoreboard, I would probably just screw around a lot and consequently quickly bore of the game.

As in real life either in the military or on an athletic team I get satisfaction in being on the winning team and I could care less about my score. I know if I have really helped or hindered the team. Your "need" for a medal is an ego trip and it is apparent that you are NOT a real team player since you only will work for score and medals -not for winning. I wouldn't want men like you in my platoon.

I don't recall ever even suggesting I had a 'need' for a medal. 'Ego'?? Where do you come up with this stuff??confusedx.gif I said I don't care if I medal or not, that having fun is the priority. I said there is a "sense of satisfaction" if I happen to get one, you know like to use your example with team sports, most valuable player award. You don't want me in your platoon?? Did I ask? Do I care? Who are you to me? Nevermind, I can answer that last question, NOBODY. Get off your high horse, and keep things in perspective and don't put words in my mouth that were not said. Now to come and think about it, I recall PlanetBattlefield forums you had the nerve to ridicule my server rules when I stated one rule "respect others and have fun." Your reply " Only ONE rule , no profanity -Therefore you can spawncamp main base, plane camp, team kill, beach ships, team wound use glitches etc.- No thanks." You have no right hyjacking my post, when I'm trying to promote my server, to spew your poison. I know it's off topic but if you allow people to use profanity on your server, I don't care. I don't trash your server. You pay for it. you run it your way. I pay for mine I run it my way. If we want to have good clean fun, than that is our business, not yours. So in the future just stay out of my business, you disrepectful little pissant.

In YOUR own words dude "If there was no scoreboard, I would probably just screw around a lot and consequently quickly bore of the game." That is like the little boy that takes his ball home if the game is not going the way he likes it. Nobody is in your business! Believe it or not I hope you do well on your server. Saying I was "spewing poision" -what a ridiculous statement. You stated only one rule "no profanity" on your server - so what is your problem answering follow-up questions asked by myself and others asking similar questions. Others agreed with me as well questioning about permitted basecamping spawncamping etc.You were ambigious when you needed clarity. Don't be so thin skinned when others question something. By the way little dude I am 6' 2" and 220 lbs-certainly no pissant :) Now the discussion can be put back on tract. A server side score display option is the way to go but I know that will probably not happen.

leave the scoring system in. i dont care what score other people get, if they beat me who gives a crap? i just like to know how i fair against my friends. is removing the scoreboard just to stop those ppl who call u a score-whore? grow up. how does having a score reduce teamplay? having a score gives incentive for people to play harder. having a score gives incentive to actually go and take flags. getting medals makes u good (as opposed to getting on the bottom of the scoreboard) and makes u want to continue playing hard.

Maybe a B17 pilot didn't need to know how many kills he got (although AFAIK the gunners kept their own tallies of shot-down planes), but apparently fighter pilots and (at least German) tank crews did. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with elan and morale. So if you want to know a positive reason why some of us like to see our score, ask a vet why he recorded kills on his fighter plane.
