SkipsterMaybe a B17 pilot didn't need to know how many kills he got (although AFAIK the gunners kept their own tallies of shot-down planes), but apparently fighter pilots and (at least German) tank crews did. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with elan and morale. So if you want to know a positive reason why some of us like to see our score, ask a vet why he recorded kills on his fighter plane.

Read what I posted not what you implied. It stated the following: "Do you think a B17 bomber pilot needs to know the amount of deaths he has administered on the ground below in order for him and his crew to man that aircraft? " It states TO MAN his aircraft which is not tied to his scoring ability. This thread appears pointless to continue because the developers will keep the individual scores stats as is regardless of the opinions that are expressed by others and that is fine with me. It is their effort that made the FH mod very good. The only request would be to make a server side adjustment on score display that is preferred by the host server and that is probably not going to happen. It would be a nice option to see how it does effect game play. If it doesn't pan out the server can revert back to the current score display.

Sorry, I lopped a piece out of there somehow:confused: . Above that should have been something about how the bomber pilot didn't need anything but orders to man his aircraft or else possibly be shot, but we, as game players, have more diverse options :D To summarise the whole: If most armed services thought that that kill tallies and competition were a good morale booster, for men that didn't have a choice anyway, why wouldn't it boost morale for some of us that do have a choice. I don't play for score, but I like to see it anyway. It does not affect the way I play. To me, removing the scoreboard altogether smacks of "removing/not adding features because of smacktards". If anything, blame it on the nature of the simplistic BF engine scoreboard, where only flag caps and kills count.
