Just thinking (yes it hurts!!!) Why are there uncap bases? Wouldnt it be more fun if you could capture all the flags? then it would be a real fight or die for the last flag a party holds That way you wouldnt really have baseraping, right?
On one hand it's extremely aggrevating to be continuesly spawnkilled, on the other hand it's natural that a losing team gets that treatment. Strange is that on most maps uncappable bases lack any kind of protection against it.

Well unlike BFV it's very easy for a single enemy to sneak in and capture the large base with all the goodies in, that would be a hard blow for the other team. It's a system that ensures that players doesn't have to stay behind and camp (boring) so that they don't end up with IS-2's in their backs (that happens anyway though)
Yes. But would you honestly expect to see many players manning main base defenses to prevent an enemy tank from rolling into the base prior to that enemy tank rolling into the base on the pubs? Most of the time, by the time you know that an enemy tank or such is letting loose inside your main base, he is already inside your base and past any emplaced AT guns or such. And then it is up to the infantry to clean house.
Well yes I was more thinking of the situation when the other team lost all flags except their uncappable.. but take an example like german base in El Al. A single brit tank wouldnt be that hard to take out if there were flak 18's or Pak's and if the Panzerfaust had a more realistic range. Allies have longer range at weapons but they also lack stationary guns. The problem is what to do with the heavies.
When it comes to the camping rules, our guys discussed it heavily when we first put up our server. We decided that the only rules we would have on our server are:
1. No profanity 2. No blatant TK'ing 3. Don't act like a jerk (granted, this one is kinda subjective)
Other than that, anything goes. We have 60+ members, and the majority of them voted these rules in. We decided that this is, after all, an approximation of war, and in war, there really are no rules. So, if you like those rules, you are all of course welcome to come and play.
Let's face it, most of the time a guy camping your main base (which he can't cap) is one less guy you have to kill to take the flags away from the other team. I say, let 'em camp and go get their flags while they blow up your main. They can't win in your main base.
Is there anyway of tellling if wou've been kicked from a server? I've been on a few since FH has been out and every now and then (after hours of play) I get disconnected from the server... or is it that FH servers die on a regular basis - as when I went back into ASE each time the server was gone. The only thing I wanted to know is if you actually had any warning (inbuilt to the game) if you are kicked. If not, can admins make sure before kicking someone they tell them that they're gonna do it and why?? Case in point last night about 8.15 BST on a 'Wolf' server whilst playing Storm (next map after Stalingrad) as allied, I got disconnected - unfortunately the only thing I remember about the server was that it had Wolf in the name somewhere (not the 'normal' Wolf server)...
Well, after you played and disconnected it either says: disconnected from server (is ok). kicked from server (not good, but still ok). banned from server (panic).
And FH server don't die on a regular basis, but you can't see them on ASE or whatever you're using when it's changing maps. Also, sometimes servers crash. You can see that they did if they are not showing up on ASE or if they've changed maps.
Ah thanks for that. Well it always says "disconnected from server" so that's good - I'm being paranoid :) All I've gotta figure out is why it happens - since the Server didn't appear to be in ASE (Note. I forget the server names unless it's obvious like Nagnag or OKIGW(!)) so maybe it was a server-side problem. This doesn't happen often and I have had no problems with my cable ISP so I guess it's beyond my control... Cheers for the quick response!
I think the language rule is fine. Not does it only improve teamplay, it's polite and prevents important tactics or information from being ran over by flood of german babble (not to disrespect german people. the fact just is, that most people on european servers are german), which is the problem on most servers. Also, usually the people who don't understand to stop speaking in forbidden language after being advised, are quite smacktrady and not the people you want to play with. But as I said on the previous page, it feels kind of weird speaking engish to your real life friend.
