That is the spy plane taking pictures. I was actually surprised how many of the limited kits were available... I expected every noob to run around with something full-automatic (or to try at least), but I always got a Thompson or a MP40 if I wanted one (trench-fighting in Tobruk;)) I guess I will spend the whole weekend playing and I hope I get my cousin into the game too.

I don't think many people are proficient with infantry yet, there is alot of open ground with little to no cover.

Alex6714;4093329Sorry for the late reply. Specs: Core 2 duo E6600, 4GB DDR2 @ 533 and XFX 7600GT. All on high except dynamic lighting and shadows on medium. I didnĀ“t have Fh2 before I had 4GB, but PR is similar in requierments I should think. And I had to put textures on medium to run without lag. Now though, in PR and FH2 it runs nice and smoothly with textures on high (30-60 FPS, 60 max due to vsync). This is also with 2xAA and 16xAF. I have tried El alamein and supercharge and they run nicely. Although, whenever there is alot of grass my framerate drops a bit more.:) I will play some more and see how it goes.:)

Thanks!

That is very strange, maybe its an issue with the 8xxx series (not the only one :(). More feedback from Vista users is always appreciated.

I think the graphics are great. Great work. It does feel like a new game. My only issue is the lag and I see that is a common problem. Looking forward to any theatre expansions.

Overall, I have to say I was sadly dismayed. In a taste test of over 100 people last night, there were 2 who liked it and went on to play on another FH2 server. The rest went back to our normal BF2 server. I wanted to like it personally. I REALLY REALLY wanted to like it. I like the WWII genre so much more than the current modern combat. I had patiently watched these forums and waited for this Mod to come out, thinking it would be a revelation. I was truly hoping it would be BF1942 with shiny new graphics from the BF2 engine. Indeed the graphics are wonderful, but it ends there. It is NOT BF1942 meets BF2. It is BF1942 meets Project Reality with the BF2 engine. PR flopped! Why can't you just build a game the masses want? Truly sad as I can see how much detail has gone into the development of this. My personal annoyances: Well I am a planewhore; Always have been, always will be. I think it comes from the fact I am an actual pilot, but that is all I ever like to do in the virtual world. The flying in FH2 is abyssmal. The planes are poorly modeled, for example: 1) Mossies were made of wood. It took very few shots to down them in the war. 2) The planes have no working gauges. 3) Cockpit only views DOES NOT make it more real! In real life, you have a a head that moves! You should have made the views as customizable as normal BF2 and 1942. I bet this is what pisses the pilot group off the most. Very few people want to fly cockpit only. 4) Landing to rearm? Aww come on now. I realize even today you cannot rearm without landing, but then here comes the video game element. It is just one or two planes, not squadrons. The player wants to enjoy flying. It takes more boring time to land the plane, get teamkilled by someone waiting for it as you rearm, respawn, wait for the plane, then finally gety to drop bombs badly, rinse repeat. No fun at all. 5) Very poor physics. I feel like I am flying as fast as an F-35 through the battlefield. The Stuka should be crusing at what? Around 200Kts? Not 900! On the ground, I found the game much more enjoyable, though aiming points for most weapons are again made to Project Reality standards rather than something a FPS player would enjoy. Good luck with FH2. Perhaps if you listen to some of the comments people make it will indeed have a difference. I don't hold alot of hope for that. Historically, developers build things THEIR way instead of what the masses want, and that is why so many video games flop.

I'm disappointed with the maps but I suppose you can't expect much from the desert. You get into a truck with someone and you're guaranteed to be blown sky high, the flat open terrain does not promote travel.

And really, whats with the blurred vision? This is a computer game for goodness sake. I can't understand this obsession with realism. Squads are non existant, well... they exist but they might aswell not, but I'll let that pass seeing as its only Day 2.

A big 'Hmmmmm' from me, but we'll see.

*clears throat* Jumjum isn't around, so I'll take this one.

First: this is not meant to be BF1942 on the BF2 engine, whatever gave you that idea? Have you even played FH on BF1942? The FH devs pride themselves on a mix of realism and historical accuracy.

Secondly: PR has not flopped. You not playing it =/= a flop.

Your plane points: 1. It's not a Mosquito, it's a Beaufighter. Made of metal. Not wood. Metal. 2. Impossible to code into the mod. Sorry. 3. Hold down control to use free-look in a plane. You'll find it much better at representing 'the head that moves'. 4. I can see why this would be annoying, but I'm no flyer. I guess you'll have to get used to it. 5. I'm going to trust the FH devs' extensive knowledge of WWII and testing of their mod over your ideas of what 'good physics' are for planes.

Finally, not sure what you're talking about when it comes to 'aiming points' and PR. And as an FPS player, I can tell you that you're wrong, I enjoy them.

Hope that solves some of your queries.

Just another member of the masses, Meadow
