yuiopI think Bf2 might have the immobilization feature. I think it might also have the variable accuracy feature a la America's Army where your accuracy decreases permenantly every time you get wounded.
Thats cool as long as i doesnt ruin gameplay too much
schoolkidHave you played Silent Heroes?
Yes, and it's completely stupid when a "wounded" soldier with blurred vision goes around running and bunny hopping. And dont say "better something then nothing", cause in this case it's better nothing then that thing
Yes, and it's completely stupid when a "wounded" soldier with blurred vision goes around running and bunny hopping.
And you can't do this with clear vision?
Did you read my post? The answer is there...
PzReg1|BUGSWell - sometimes it's just annoying to have that long spawntimes. Imagine: You died because you were just killed in battle-> long spawntime - well - you have to wait and that's ok... But what about: TK -> long spawntime? InstantSpawnDeath -> long spawntime? And waiting three minutes in a row just because of that - thanks no! I know I might be exaggerating - but only to show my point. And especially in a game like FH where every wrong move might be a failure and possible one to pay with your live... or who would like to attack the beach on omaha anymore?
Well, like it or not, that is what DICE is busy with now, at least that is what is the interviews with DICE cooperatives say.
DICE thinks players are too careless with their lives, and bf1942 was not an optimal platform for teamplay, so to force players to be more carefull and teamplay cooperative they want to include a penalty for dying......i figure that won't be the server admin adjustable spawndelay seting we have now.
You're right Omaha beach like maps could prove nasty maps if they really come up with a non settable death penalty. But all in all i am happy with it. I hate players that run straight at you that don't use cover and apperently don't care if they are killed......speaking about realism, there were very very few soldiers who acted like that. All mentally sane soldiers were afraid of being killed, or better : afraid of being mutilated with horrible wounds....and sent home looking like a monster that everyone ignored or as an invalid never be able to find work again and fade away as a beggar ( that was your fate if you could't work anymore in those days for many soldiers of diffrent countries )
I did not say I love ppl running around arcardishly...
I just said you have to think of those who are the victims of that setting
schoolkidHave you played Silent Heroes? Anyways, think of it this way - when you only have a sliver of life left, that would not simulate "brink of death", rather "brink of inability to fight".
Yes, and its the sole reason i played it for an hour or so, then promptly deleted it. Next thing you know they'll be wanting us to stab ourselves in the eye with a compass everytime we're hit..
Having read all the post on this forum I was wondering if any of you have played Ghost Recon, Raven Shield or Athen Sword??
In these games when you die you have to wait until the game is over (especially Co-Op). On some servers if the other players are good and you make a small mistake you could be waiting for 30mins at least, before you can play again.
But these do have injury penaltys like you can't run with a leg wound and if injured in the upper body your aim (spray area) takes longer to stabalise, and there is no medic or health cabinets.
I like BF because of the respawn and the fun factor of the game. If you bring in longer spawn times and/or bigger injury punishments the fun factor is replaced by a much slower game play and IMHO less fun.
I think there should be an option on the server that if you TK then you die and the other person respawns straight away in the TKers spot.
Just my little bit. ;0)
