They used smoke colored grenades in WWII too......you can see that very well in the movie "a bridge too far"

Having these would greatly improve close air support quality for ground units, since it is easier to find where the target is in difficult visibility terrain ( forrest, bushes, houses ) for aircraft, or just easier to find in general for aircraft.

It works better, faster and more accurate in tandem with only getting some minimap coordinates aswell.....

It has also great possebilities in marking positions for ground forces......mark an enemy tank as infantry when you don't have an anti tank weapon equipped to warn your teammates of a hidden ( camping ) enemy tank who then can deal with it. We don't all use TS or play in clans, very usefull in public servers aswell.

I didn't notice any lag.....that can't be a reason not to include this very usefull feature in FH....and FH isn't graphically more complex then the recent other quality mods.

In fact, most smoke effects are missing while they obviously are supported by the Bf1942 engine as other mods have them, (problem free as far as i can tell ) smoke to cover infantry or tank positions/manouvers aswell.

It would be a much better if you could launch a smoke grenade on stumbeling on a much more powerfull enemy tank, and be able to retreat behind the smoke. That is what defense many real WWII tanks did have.

I feel they would greatly increase possebilities of the FH game in a tactical sense. What is your opinion on that ? ( please do not only focus on "my crappy 4 year old computers can't run it so no way" )

Excellent idea since I mostly agree on the visibility aspect of it when flying over a target, it is surely easier to focus your eye on the area that the smoke is at and identify the target easier.

Great idea Beasty.

I would like to see smoke grenades that act like the ones in eod (they are easier to see from planes b/c they just go straight up). I think that they would be a great addition to fh.

:agreed

I especially like the possibility of using it for air support. I hate flying around wooded areas and such and never being sure of what to shoot. Very frustrating.

I always supported adding smoke to FH. Both, as markers and as cover.

The only con that is expressed by some is lag. I play on a really low end system, and i am usually the one always fighting against all the "eye candy" that gives more lag for my 15FPS gameplay, however, there are some great codes for smoke available that don't lag.

ActionBF mod had the best smoke code i've seen. It will create a full wall of smoke, yet there is virtually no drop in the FPS. SH smoke looks great too.

We used smoke grenades to get air support or more reinforcements to the correct position when playing Galactic Conquest. It was very useful. Plus, it gave really good cover when you had to flee from the place. So i do suggest that FH devs do the same. It will give both, cover and a signal. :)
