Does BF2 still give medals to the top 3 players?

If they do can we have accurate medals this time, like in bf1942 we had iron crosses for the japanese...

No medals, please!

I don't want a rank system for FH, it will ruin everything.

Not those kinds of medals! He means the little awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd player in each match, the ones you got in 42, BFV, and BF2. I say they're pretty cool, actually.

You might very well think that

Heh, Freak got pwned.

Sadly, I think they've taken the retarded coding a step further - you know how in BF1942 Allies got one kind of medal, Axis got another? Well in BF2, everyone gets the same. *sigh* Way to go, DICE.

Meh only the winning team should get a medal, not the guys with the top 3 scores.

It would make more sense to award a medal for number of kills, team support or whatever for each individual team. Kinda like the global ranking but only on a map by map basis. Nothing would be stored so "point farming" for medals would be a waste of time unless you want to be the best in all areas in every single match. I wish you luck.

Then again, personally I can do without medals. Just list the topscores (were team supports makes you rank much higher then just kills, add in a kill to death ratio too) and I will be happy. Hell even no highscores at all would be fine with me.

Good suggestion. Its always a nice surprise to see your name advertised at the end of a match - yet knowing everyone will forget who you are within seconds :)

Yeah--I actually kind of like the BF42 system, it is harmless. Gives recognition and some sort of satisfaction without encouraging really serious score whoring.

I just found myself in a match of Kharkov Outskirts yesterday; disconnected 3 times, and with about 20 minutes left in the game, I spawn at the Axis main. Lo and behold, we have 2 flags left, and there's a katyusha _behind_ our North buildings raping us. And a Tiger just spawned, and my teammates are either in the field or wiped out by the katyusha. So I wait for him to reload...dash across the open space, grab the Tiger (I normally don't drive heavy tanks) and go on a mad killing spree that ends me up near the top of the score list.

I hadn't even been paying attention, I was just busy wiping out Russians as we recapped all the flags, until I checked someone's player ID and, close. And barged forward to the last 2 flags and started doing grit laps around the place, wiping out defenders while my teammate drove a tank up to the flag to cap it. W00t! #1!

Harmless, and sometimes it gives that "extra" kick to get you to kill-mo-shit-faster.
