Sometimes I wonder if the people posting on forums are actually playing the same game. Doesn't seem so in the case of the threadstarter.

Snipers ... As they are now, they are practically non-existant, which is more realistic and better for gameplay and game balance, anway. No need to worry about anything ... Except for riflemen, assault troopers, machine gunners, AT riflemen, gun emplacements, armored cars, tanks, planes, artillery, mines ...

Oh there are. I've seen them on my team a few times, but like Frosty said they are few and far between. One reason being is that there are only so many sniper (scout) pick-up kits per map.

Sounds like you had 1 or 2 bad rounds that were a fluke... I can't even imagine the kind of trouble you had. It's not like a p4 camping your main with no possibility of taking it out on your own. Spawn recon or SL, ID the sniper's location, and kill him. Use smoke.

I picked up a sniper once, out of curiosity, and then was knifed in the back by a teammate. And so ended my sniping spree.

I'm pretty sure the snipers in FH2 aren't much more accurate then the bolt action rifles. Reason being, the only difference in those days between snipers and regular rifles, besides being fitted with a scope, was snipers were selected. After the rifles were assembled, they were all tested on the firing range. If a rifle was shown to have exceptional accuracy, it was fitted with a scope. This is still done today for some snipers including the g3sg1. I haven't looked at the specific data in the FH2 code, however if they are more accurate at all, it shouldn't be much. You can snipe fairly accurate with a normal rifle if you know where to use the iron sights.

according to the US offensive Marksmanship Manual: " the attatched scope to the snipers rifle does not increase accuracy.... ...Rather it is to distiguish and identify targets at ranges beyond accurate human vision" so in a sense, you have a rifle with extra distance, so if your just camping and not using the rifle for what it was used for (aggresevly seeking and killing targets before they can get within range) then they are not a sniper and hereby designated as an UB3RN00I3 that is all

I would call that a good sniper :P A sniper is a nuissance at best, but never a game ender imo (being a sniper myself :P) If he's a good sniper, then you'll want to stay out of emplaced positions/ out in the open, but thats common place :P
