I would just suggest, to release 0.65 in several small parts (around 250 MB each), because some Users had to reload 0.61 several time , because some bytes of these huge packets weren't downloaded correctly and 0.61 couldn't be installed properly.

(Even Getright didn't help in the case of a friend of mine).

Especially if the 700 MB part didn't work, it wasn't fun to download it 2 or 3 times!

yeah I agree - it is not funny to re-download 700 megs - had some bad experiences with FH 0.5.

People have problems installing three parts let alone installing 6 or 7 different parts. So this should only be a optional download. Just use bittorent I've been using it for months and I never had one corrupt download.

Provided you use Bittorrent or file-resumption program there should be no problem. If file corruption even occurs, you would be unable to complete the setup process as it has CRC built in.

Question: what makes the filesize of FH so freakin' large? 2.3GB FH folder?! I didn't think maps, sounds, textures could take up so much space.

Please most people were having problems with 3 or more, if you have several parts then you will have a whole lot less people willing, or mentally able, to d/l and install the different parts

I think it should be split into 2 parts like the 0.6 patch was. The first part which had all the textures and sounds and stuff and the second part has all the maps.

Just use a damn download manager. Don't inconvenience everyone else because your connection can't stand a large download. Multiple files are pains in the asses and add a lot of confusion to installing.

A single archive ensures that no files can be installed in the wrong order, no pieces can be lost or forgotten to be downloaded, and there's no queueing in Fileplanet for 2 or 3 files when 1 is plenty.

FlashGet is a superb download agent that supports resuming, file integrity, and mirroring. It uses multiple connections to get the file as fast as your ISP allows downloading. Download it overnight if you need your conn during the day.

You can even continue downloads with Fileplanet dude. Keep it one file. If you have to shut down the comp, you can just continue the download later.
