for the sake of gameplay only the looks of the destroyed tanks should be changed the exploding tank gayness should be removed and replaced with somthing simlular to FH.
Actually, not entirely correct that most tanks didn't blow up or burn (many did, not sure about exact numbers.) Assuming a tank was diesel-powered (not a given), reducing the risk of fire from the tank being hit, anytime you had either spalling from a HESH-type round, a jet of hot liquid from a HEAT round or a sabot round banging around inside the vehicle, there was a very high risk of something fairly hot and fast moving hitting a stored round (which, in most tanks that I am aware of, were stored pretty much all over the place.)
The thing is the propellant case of any round; you can imagine the fun you get if a main gun round goes off _inside_ a tank. It's very possible for some of the crew to get out (assuming the whole vehicle doesn't cook off immediately) but there are plenty examples of turrets being flung 50m into the air assuming the fairly sturdy build nature of a tank didn't contain the explosion. Sort of like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbcADoSz9bg
While on the other hand, a lot of tanks just sat there and smouldered or died quietly.
Tanks with blown off tracks or wheels or whacked engines could definitely be salvaged, and often were, this is correct, and I would love to see provision for this. But don't underestimate the frequency of things going boom -- I've read enough accounts of T-34s and even Tigers cooking off fairly spectacularly with or without escaping crew to want to see tanks go boom with a reasonable frequency.
These guys (or some of them) probably got out alive.
These guys probably too
...not bloody likely.

I hope that munitions panzer actually becomes useful through some sort of repair ability...
Dang it, FB beat me by 30 minutes. Short version about the 'faust and other shape charges: they didn't destroy by a huge explosion but by a super-heated jet of molton metal, maybe 2'-3" in diameter, which zipped through several inches of hardened steel like the proverbial hot knife through butter. Inside the tank it fried people and/or set off ammo and/or started fires.
Munitionspanzer FTW. I'm still sad it was taken out of Zitadelle in the 0.7 mappack... :-(

It's still there :p

I had a wet dream that after a certain amount of time and or usage(via using the health bar which decreases steadily as you drive[slowly of course] and is dependent upon how much power you give the engine or if you hit anything hard) which could only be repaired by befhelspanzers/munitionspanzers so that driving something like a tiger would require some teamwork with repair/support squads like in R.L. But then again it was only a wet dream.
A fuel meter, fuel meter is what you are looking for. Only UFO's burn their armor to operate.:abduct:
But they break down a lot too those tigers! I guess U.F.O.s do a lot more of that then?

They sure do. Ever heard of Roswell? It blew itself up so bad you can't even be sure it was ever a UFO:naughty:.
