I was watching Fallschimjager videos on youtube the other day, and at one point they hit a sherman with a panzerfaust and there was a fireball and a big plume of smoke coming out of the hatch as well as a fire on the engine. So, tanks don't blow up ala BF2, but they definately could be on fire and burning, but due to munitions, not the actually charges.

I love you. I want to have your children.

Actually, I want foodmaniac to have your children, so I can come over to your house and screw with their heads.

Coca-Cola;3598436I had a wet dream that after a certain amount of time and or usage(via using the health bar which decreases steadily as you drive[slowly of course] and is dependent upon how much power you give the engine or if you hit anything hard) which could only be repaired by befhelspanzers/munitionspanzers so that driving something like a tiger would require some teamwork with repair/support squads like in R.L. But then again it was only a wet dream.

Seems like a bad idea to me, mostly because alot of people really dont give a damn about their teammates. Even if they did care they arent going to help you 24/7. Not to mention its rather unrealistic if you ask me as repair squads didnt exactly run behind a Tiger tank to repair and while the Tiger tank did require alot of maintaince it wasnt as bad as you seem to think, though. Keep in mind that tank crews themselves where trained to perform repairs in the field. Such as repairing a damaged track or something like that. Befehlspanzers and Munitionsschleppers (Munitionsspanzer was the sdkfz 250/6) didnt repair tanks. Befehlspanzers where used for commanding purposes. Muntionsschleppers where used for resupplying purposes. Various vehicles where used for carriny and resupplying ammo. Converted Panzer 1's and 2's. Sdkfz 250/6 leichte Munitionspanzerwagen. Sdkfz 252's. Etc, etc. Here is a interesting article about the Tiger tank.Clicky

You mean the bergepanzer? :p

Bergepanzer aka Salvagetank Befehlspanzer aka Commandtank Munitionspanzer aka Ammonitiontank

What oh what would these baby's do? :p

I do wish to see some of these such as the salavage vehicles to tow back and repair tanks (or repair vehicles right on the battlefield even though this isn't realistic it beats magically respawning vehicles). Ammunition suply vehicles would be nice to replace ammo boxes without forcing a tank to drive back to the mainbase.

Well, i just explained that in my previous post. Regarding the Munitionspanzer... read my post, will you? :)

I think vehicle respawning isnt really all that unrealistic. Its just as "realistic" as infantry respawning.

Towing back would simply take too much time. At the same time it would promote camping because most people dont like the thought of dying and waiting 10 minutes to get towed back just to get back in action.

Personally, i think that tank crews should have be able to partially repair their tank. In real life a tank crew were trained for that sort of thing. Aside from special vehicle for repairing tanks.

I have (I always read all posts). But you don't have a monopoly on posting here and neither are other's not allowed to post roughly the same in their own words. ;)

Well no it's not totally unrealistic (they can be new tanks arriving from behind the front etc. and since infantry is unlimited it would suck if tanks aren't. The ratio needs to be realistic afterall). But I do think one or more alternatives need to be given. Alternatives involving repairs rather then respawns.

- Crew repairs is one of them (for minor repairs only! It's not like they had a complete welding equipment and spare engine around..) - Bergepanzer and such things to repair larger damage (replacing an engine or something. Sure this would need to be done in a workshop but it's still a game... - Repair workshop in mainbase (if any, depends on map layout) for full repairs from almost completly wrecked to minor repairs.

Some tanks should only spawn a limited amount of times (comprable with limited spawns for certain infantry classes), others should respawn without any limit. For those tanks that won't respawn or won't respawn a lot you do need several options to save your tank aside from minor repairs.

Alternativly we could get rid of such things altogether and only allow very small repairs (you cna lay a track back but not replace an engine or turret during game time) on vehicles and infantry (you can get a bandage but not heal a bulletwound in your leg during game time).Either would be fine with be but I guess a lot of people would cry if they would have no option to fix heavy injury/damage...

You are 100% right but i was afraid that you didnt read my post as it can get somewhat annoying if you make a big post and you spend alot of time finding info/pictures explaining certain things only to find out your post gets ignored.

I prefer to keep this sort of thing simple as possible because while things like this might be possible in large scale WW2 games such the upcoming 1944 D-Day: Operation Overlord simulator but in a game on a small scale such FH2 i dont really think it can be done in terms of gameplay or realism.

For example Repair trucks or armoured recovery vehicle or something like. And, like you said, workshops in the mainbase.

I disagree with limited tank/infantry spawn. Mostly because it can lead to alot of problems. For example an unexperienced player wasting the kit/vehicle. A lamer constantly blowing up the vehicle or making sure nobody gets the kit. Base campers/rapers are also a factor that must be kept in mind.
