I just noticed looking at the screen the gave us for satchels, the kt picture appears to have its hatch open! If you look at the top left what appears to be hatch is hanging over the side. Now compare to this screenshot taken by Eglaerinion (from this thread:http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=116431&page=2&pp=25) Another shot by ottskortexy. (Spelt that wrong) from same thread. I think its safe to say, or at least there is a high probabilty, that .65 is going to have tank hatches that open and shut. As to what tanks will have this feature, and whether this means that hatch will automatic or be player controlled, we shall have to wait and see......
I´d love to be able to pop a grenade inside the hatch and take out the tank. Unfortuanatly I doupt its possible.

Don't get your hopes up. That is a screenshot from another update.
I'm pretty sure it's just for decoration or an machine gun
Ah ok so they might have just added to the model to make it nicer looking. Probaly not a openable hatch...sigh..
lol all tanks have their hatches up that have a mg mounted on top you cant open and close them and if you try to throw a grenade inside it wont do shit
Well its not THAT funny, eod added a hatch that opens on the sherdian tank when a gunner goes into it- so its at least possible. Also in there intial models for the kt and is2 both open and closed hatch versions are presented. The model we got in-game .61 had often had different hatch configurations then most of the screenshots presented there. Why would they make both open and closed hatch versions?- well likely just 'becasue', but this modeling would also be needed if they did intend to have different hatch positions. The screenshots: http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/April2004Archive.html Ill say that movable hatches is not as likey as I suggested intially, however, I wouldn't put it past them to incorporate something like this in a later fh version The is2 with its hatch open:
Isn't it properly called a "cupola"?
Also, it seems that it's just for the looks because I think watching a commander firing a machine gun through a closed cupola would just be strange, don't you think?
i dont know about you guys but in all those pics the hatch is open....look behind the mg
yes the Hatch is open on all Screenshots you posted, and the IS-2, I think they modeled a open hatch because a later version of the Is-2 carried a Dhsk 12,7mm heavy mg on his top. But this mg is not modelled or skinned right now, thats because there is no mg on the top of the is-2 ;) (correct me if Im wrong)
