the more machine guns on a tank the better. if they are suppressing a building just aim the tank that way and you go three mgs and a large gun to suppress it.

FrenkanIĀ“ve mentioned this in other threads, but this is something I really would like to see in FH2, suppressing fire. The blureffect caused by artillery and shells in BF2 could be used to an extent if a heavy machinegun was fired close to you (you being on the recieving end). It would bring a whole new level to the deployable MGs.

Excellent idea, and easily implemented in BF2 filesystem. The only problem is you would have to create a copy of this tinnitus effect for use with the bullets, as there is a GLOBAL affect radius for the artillery/explosion tinnitus effect. You would have to creat an alternate one with smaller radius for use with bullets.

And ALL guns should cause it if shot close enough...

I don't know I have a feeling having players sit around in a constant blur would simply going to bog down gameplay. The effect is annoying enough when dogding explosives. I can't imagine how annoying it would be if every single bullet that landed next to you would give you shell shock. But if the MG is accurate enough and they keep rifles similar to what the snipers are in BF2, a decent MG'er will only need to drop a few guys before a squad gets that suppressed feeling. :tommygun:

Note: my previous comment was on Bow Mg's, the ones the driver would operate. Not a co-axial Mg. or secondary. The bow MG only had a 90 degree field of fire. It's lack of importance added with the need to have an air-tight compartment led to it's scrapping.
