I don't remember about the discussions upon realism especially being such a hot and touchy subject though we could just look to Red Orchestra.. ehmm.. And I know what title its on..

But will tanks in the gameplay of FH2 have so much more increased fear factor, which infact doesn't have any in the first whatsoever.

Meaning when I play a Western map, and I spot a Tiger coming down into the village or road, I should steer clear of its sight completely. I want to really know I could be in a hopeless situation if found ambushed or headon with a Tiger inside a Sherman.

Wait till you see what Bratwurst is doing with the tanks.

I wet myself when the tigers roll into town.

It's ALL in the sound

Well, its up to the players to be afraid. We can't "input" fear ingame, but making the tanks more noisy could be a way of making them more fearsome.

It would be exciting perhaps, but not fearsome. "Fearsome" is RL, in which a Tiger had HE shells, and infantry had nothing which could scratch a Tiger, instead of 75% of the infantry having AT weapons, each man with enough firepower to kill one Tiger.

I'm not bitching; just pointing out a fact. Besides it would boring to play a game in which Tigers could only be affected by air attack (iffy and not always available ingame) or arty (double iffy and doubly unavailable).

its also because range has almost no factor in FH. IRL if you SEE a tiger in your shermans sights at a distance, you know your gone and your scared crapless. but in FH penetration due to range has no effect, and you know that your sherman can at least stand a chance (theres an entire thread about this)

What does no penetration due to range matter for the sherman? A tiger sees him he's 1 hit killed anywhere from 1m to 1,000m. :bawl:

Can the current sherman gun even penetrate the tigers armor? I've never been brave enough to try. :lookaround:

Hell you'll need lots of rounds to take down a Tiger with a Sherm. More than 5, or even 10 maybe.

If you want fear make the tanks like the tigers in COD2. Those things rumble in and you pretty much shit your pants. of coarse FH is a war game, not a "HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THAT TANK ITS L337!" game.

You absolutely need to hit the Tiger's threads to kill it, unless you want to spend the day. You can kill it in 3-4 shots, from any distance. Of course, since the threads are not that big its easier when you are close, and its very hard (but possible) to hit them when the Tiger faces you.

It SHOULD 1 shot the shermans, but I've seen Shermans survive the first one often enough to justify my courageous and often successful attempts at attack Tigers alone with Shermans.
