I brought this topic up at WaW in relation to changing the nature of our pub server...
"me" I remember playing on some awsome PR servers back when i played it quite a bit... they made it manditory to join a squad and strongly encouraged teamplay. Could we do something like that with our server? It would be perfectly fitting... we strive to be the beacon of teamplay in the sea of random pubing... why not make our public server atleast somewhat teamplay oriented?? I think developing a regular strong teamplay environment on our server would make it a very propular server, and possibly encourage those who've lost interest in random pubie play to load up the server more often. Yeah tactical gamer gave you 90 seconds to join squad or a kick, it worked out well in PR. Probably would work well in fh2 as well.
No, this would not work. It works on PR servers like TG because PR attracts a certain demographic of players that are different than the ones FH2 attracts.
I unfortunately cannot find squads ingame most of the time that use the teamwork. The forcing of squads will not promote teamwork.

We need to change FH2's demographic in my opinion.
IF you make fh2 more realistic, like PR... Then you might get a lot of more teamwork... It is a pity tho, not many servers use VOIP, hslan for example, there is teamwork but no ingame voip...
Join squads or get kicked servers are alright. But even on pubbys you can get good teamwork. Look for the squads with people you know are good, or clan members (WaW people, HSLAN, etc). Usually they tend to use more teamwork. But even the random people use teamwork. Dont wait for it to come to you, if you want your team to work together, create one and tell people to join if they want teamwork, and take the initiative. There are other people like you and will join the squad and viola :)
I personally don't like enforced fireteams. You'd end up with fireteams made of lone wolves, which is IMO pointless at best (at worst you'll end up with a fireteam where the commander wants to play a team and everyone else wants to play as lone wolf).
I'd prefer just ensuring that "volunteer" fireteams are played properly, for example by having admins demote fireteam leaders that routinely disregard the commander's orders, or don't communicate with their squad, or don't issue any orders etc. I don't think this can be automated anyway, you'd need admins on the server.
And tell guys not to fly or drive tanks with limited or pickup kits! I don't know why but it really annoys me.
I love team work, but I don't want it dictated to me. I prefer to just ask please to "squad up" and such. I agree with Rattovolante that if you dictated it on your server, then you end up with squads of people just running around as lone wolves. I would much rather see one or two actual squads (functioning as a squad) than 6 pseudo squads. Plus, the commander is many times a noob or at least someone that really doesn't understand what the hell is going on. With FH2 it's even worse, as some maps actually have objectives or flag cap orders to follow. I can't count how many times a commander has said "attack this flag" and it's one that can't be taken until 3 others are taken first. lol
I generally look for names that I have played with in the past and squad up. Sometimes I get kicked from a squad cause I don't have the right "clan tags" or don't have a mic (even though I follow orders better than most. ;) ) but for the most part I usually end up on a squad that at least works together pretty well.
I also think that many times you actually get better results by having a fluid squad(s) working and using there own intel and smarts.
A major reason that PR has so much team work isn't because of how the mod is designed. PR has alot of team work because its a realismm mod with modern warefare for BF2 for people who want team work. All the lone wolfers/small children will stay with vanilla BF2 and do what vanilla BF2ers do. People who want modern realistic warfare will go to PR and people who want noobed modern warfare will stay with vanilla. Fh2 on the other hand will attact anyone who likes ww2 or wants to play a ww2 based FPS. This change in theme not only attracts the team orientated players who want a ww2 theme, but also anyone else who wants to fight a ww2 based game. The 2ACR is trying to set up a weekly clan night in our server, im sure many of you remember clan night in fh1, those were usually really good games with alot of team work. As soon as it all gets sorted out i'll be sure to post and update everyone. Brasche
