tvih Same thing with "AT jeeps", that is, people who have their crosshairs "pre-closed" just like those tankers, and then when they encounter a tank they jump out of their from full speed and immediately have 100% accuracy, and then blow you up with their faustschreckzooka. That's lame because even with a tiny bit of lag the jeeps are damn hard to hit and kill with the pathetic HE effect the tanks' shells have, so you can't often even kill the jeep before it gets close. And when the driver jumps out just when you've shot, you're dead meat. This has happened to me more than often enough.
Yes, we call that "kubelfausting". It's quite fun.
but it wouldn't be as realistic...

You can't say the current fad of just exploiting it is any more realistic. People run around with knives, instantly whip out a bazooka, fire a fully accurate shot. That is NOT realistic. Of course, sitting for 7 seconds while the tank rolls by and you lose your only shot is not FUN, or applicable to a competitive online game.

Making the Xhairs center at a reasonable rate would maintain the illusion of realism.

Eh, maybe a better choice of words, not whining but calling for change...

I agree that is the best way to go. Jeeps should not be a problem if you know how to handle them. I havent been kubelfausted since .5f

I also agree. Making the Xhairs close so slowly only encouraged abuse of the bug. IF the bug gets fixed eventually, somehow, by some divine grace of god, a quicker closing Xhair will be necessairy. Something between what it was, and what it is now.

SUGGESTION: :cya: To counter the AT/MG aim bug, wouldnt it be possible to INCREASE the amount of time it takes to switch from knife/pistol to bazooka (or to any weapon, for that matter). ie- no more INSTA-SWITCH. This is a realism mod, why is it i can shoulder my rifle and unhoslter my pistol in a quarter of a second? Why can i do the same with my forty pound bazooka? It would definetly fix this glitch if the time it took to switch from a knife to a bazooka was equal in the amount of time it took to completely focus extended AT crosshairs. The 'unholstering' time for other classes could be less, depending on the amount of equipment/weight of the weapons. :)

ANSWER:

FH can't control the bf1942 engine, and that's an engine problem, not a moddable option. Its the same with every mod. You hit a button and the weapon comes up only because that's how DICE designed it, with the arcadish feeling of vanilla in mind. If it were that easy they'd have done it a while ago.

You CAN code in a delay for firing the weapon though, like when you hit fire for a hand grenade, it dosent fly out right away. And DCX is making code breakthroughs all the time, give them a couple months. They just got homing missiles that work in (previously thought to be impossible), and have an app that allows servers to decide what vehicles spawn at what points, completely customizable.

Yeah, but i dont think adding in a firing delay would go over too well (especially with the AT class), unless it was only coded in for the first shot. So for know, i will cross my fingers tight and hope DCX makes a code breakthrough that will help this situation.

That's what i meant, i was tryying to say that if the devs took out the crosshair closing time completly or make it very short the bug would be (almost) unnoticable, but it would't be realistic. So I agree with all of the above you just said. :D
