I have never seen smacktard behaviour reguarding this, people i play with seem to leave the lift alone or some use it and put it up so its all good.

Using the lift is damn tricky sometimes, having to grab a Plane, drive-it-slooowly onto the lift, get out of the plane into the lift and out of it when you have the thing up. And you are lucky if some person hasn't already taken it and is now lifting off the runway.

The problem is by the time you bring up the plane... another has respawned on the runway. With the current respawn time on maps like iwo jima it's simply pointless to use the lift to get planes out.

They definatly need to do something about the plane placement. Normally on a carrier youll have the wildcat in the middle, and the corsair on the side. Everyone usually wants the corsair, so you have to really gently taxi it around the wildcat to actually get onto the runway. Worse is times when the wildcat isnt there, and you taxi out the corsair and the wildcat spawns on you and kills you.

Please put the wildcat on the side next to the corsair, and leave the flightdeck completly clear for any plane to take off.

The only problem I have with the carrier is that it's too small. My solution would be to widen the deck, to something like EOD's, and have 2 rows of planes, one row is fighters, the othercan be SBDs, TBDs, Aichis or Kates (i think it's Kates), the documentary on Midway showed that exact latout or something very similar

I have seen people do nothing but man the elevator position helping as people taxi'd onto elevator and lifting them to deck.

Only part i find annoying is spawning over the open elevator well and doing my best Wiley E Coyote impression of running in air

That is definitely the only major downside to the elevator. I like that idea somebody had of simply moving the spawnpoint over. Simple, efficient, elegant. :D

Well that wouldn't hurt, but if you are smart you would taxi at 50% throttle until you are clear of the spawn points, then give 'er the juice.
