After reading that "vanilla maps need to go"-thread, I thought that this would make an interesting poll to see what the community thinks of removing/keeping those maps from the original game. So here are the options: 1. remove them completely, 2. keep them and do no changes to them, leave them the way they are, 3. Modify them all like Berlin, Wake, Iwo Jima and Midway were modified. 4. Keep them temporarily and remove them gradually, this means that the team should do completely new maps representing each of the battles of those vanilla maps. Once a completely new map is released, it replaces the old DICE map. For example, when a new version of Guadalcanal is released, the vanilla Guadalcanal is removed. Just like the DICE Omaha was removed, when Charlie Sector was released. I personally vote for option 4. There should be an FH version representing each of the battles of those DICE maps, those were the most famous battles of WW2 afterall. The vanilla maps could be kept for a while, but in time replaced with complete remakes. I can't understand why FH has still retained maps like Market Garden and Stalingrad. Isn't Arnhem the same Battle as Market Garden? and why have Battle of Stalingrad and Stalingrad? It doesn't make any sense to have two versions of the same battle.

I think Market Garden and Battle of the Bulge are the only worthy Dice maps. They just need some modifications, like better defences, especially for soldier spawn points.

Arnhem (the attempt to take the Bridge and hold it) was a Battle that took place WITHIN the Market-Garden Campaign. The overall Campaign involved units from the U.S. 101st airborne, and 82nd Airborne, the British (Red Devils) 1st Airborne (of which Col. John Frost's 2nd Battalion @Arnhem was a component), and the British 30th Armoured Corps. I do agree that the DICE "Market-Garden" map is a "lame Duck" as far as reflecting the Campaign accurately is concerned: The German Armoured units were IN-BETWEEN the British Armoured units, and the "Red Devils" at Arnhem. NOT on the opposite side of the Bridge from the British Armoured advance. The entire 1st Airborne was cut-off from their own Armoured advance. And in the end, had to evacuate ACROSS the Rhine to escape. Also: The DICE Stalingrad Map is not a good reflection of that Battle. The FH version is CLOSER to the true Battle (could still use a little "tweak"; but I like the FH Map...). The DICE version is STOOPIT in FH. I do like the new Tobruk addaptation. And Battle of Britain is okay. Gazala, and El Alamein play WAY better in FH, than in Vanilla. Bulge is okay. DITCH Kharkov! It is useless in FH; just a Camp-Fest for one side or the other. I'm a bit critical of Bocage as well: Where's the actual "BOCAGE" for cripes sakes? -All the hedgerows (like CounterAttack 1940) that the Bocage-Country was NAMED for?:uhm:

there r a few decent DICE maps like market garden & botb, and a few maps that would b good with just a re-working (ie like wake & iwo jima was). but i think they should all b replaced in time. and DICE stalingrad should b gone already! we dont need two!

Hey nice poll, I voted for option 4 too but I dont think this is what we are likely to see. Because it seems to me that the devs aren't interested themselves in remaking dice maps. Its more likely to be option 3. ;) I think with the increasing number of maps in the mod though some serious questions have to be asked, like what maps should really.... be kept in fh? And notice no response from devs on this subject this tells me its not in their plans so we just have to just accept it because it is their mod and they decide. But I hope a few of the dice maps are remade eventually at least....I hope.

The Vanilla maps should stay, you get them with Bf1942 anyway. the conversion files take up roughly 110MB of space, while the FH maps take up around 700MB.

True, but DICE Market Garden focuses only on Arnhem as well. Still, I don't like seeing the removal of ANY bot supported maps. I was severely disappointed when they took out PAVLOV, which was an EXCELLENT map, perhaps the best urban map in FH until it was taken out.

Only worthy vanilla maps are the pacific maps, Iwo, Midway, Wake, and Philipines of course (the best map).

On all other vanilla maps, the scale just doesn't fit into FH: flags are too close, and you can camp one flag by "defending" another flag.
