I agree hockeywarrior, but I still think suppression going through a wall that cannot normally be penetrated should not happen. Still, mgs do have a hard time at closer ranges. The time it takes to aim down the sights gives a rifleman a free shot before the mg opens up, and when that happens, the rifleman should have another round chambered. So yes, they are pretty set right now.

Cover doesn't make you resistant against supression, so it's fine. And if you are garrisoned in a building and standing near to a wall that is being shot at from the outside, you're surely not going to feel totally relaxed.

Though MG power is overwhelming the gunner still doesn't stand a chance against a marching squad (unless it's in a truck or made of perfect noobs).

If deployed in a flanking position, MGs in FH2 can easily wipe out multiple squads, mainly because they don't expect it. On Sfakia, I managed to kille the same squad 3 or 4 teams in a row without dying, as they kept on running towards the CP in a straight line without watching their flanks.

People seem to forget, that and MG can provide cover fire, and still be lethal.

If a group of guys sees their buddy get chewed up into dogfood by an MG, they aren't gonna stick their head or body around that same corner. And seeing as how the whole point of cover fire is to keep the enemies head down, I'd think their buddy getting swiss cheesed would be some damn good cover fire.

Yeah, in real life where people actually care about staying alive. In the game I've had people coming at me one at a time and dying, then respawning and coming through the exact same chokepoint and dying again and so on. Honestly, a couple of times i wasn't sure if i was fighting bots or actual people.

You remember the MG42 with the assault clip in FH1? 'nuff said, practically useless unless in really close spots. The Mg34 on the other hand was a sniper rifle :P

As it is, you see a MG start shooting or see someone get mowed down, you GET DOWN. If you didn't have supression, you would look around, go to a corner, peek your head up like a duck to see his muzzle flash as he tries to hit you, move to the other side, and pick him off with a rifle while he tries to hit you. <- BOO

It's good how it is 8)

Be glad you dont have the old 'wavey' vision suppression. Try shooting through that heh

See niebler, that only works if the MG gunner is an idiot. If he's good, he'll hit the guy, let him drop, then sit there not firing, and wait. Eventually the guys will think "Oh, must have been a fluke, or he's dead, or he's gone" and they get up and move. Then you aim for the one looking away from you, and hit him. Continue until all are down, then change position and begin anew. Never sit in the same position twice in a row either, that's certain to get you killed.

Also, always try to lock down an area. If you get in a good position, you can provide area denial, that is, to make sure that they can NOT go through said area. Even if it only means that you shoot 1 guy every once in awhile after a good group of them at the beginning, your making sure that no one is going to even dare go into the killing field, and they loose the ability to tactically move.

I do that myself :P You know people are waiting for the MG to stop firing. So I shoot of some rounds, and 'fake' like I moved or am reloading, wait for them to pop up and think its safe, then wham. Rattatatat two Brits in a hat :D
