'[ECGNBulletToothTony;4150793']"The phychological effect of Thompson"?

For me, it has none. When I hear one I think "there is someone who doesn't have the balls to use a bolt action". :)

Elitist opinions like this always amuse me. In many ways, I view bolt actions as the easiest gun to use. You can kill at virtually any range, usually with a single shot. And essentially all you have to do is point.. and click. With an SMG you have recoil to consider, as well as not being able to rely on single hits to kill. It's a much different skillset required by each weapon type.

End of the day.. if you want to use a bolt go for it. But please don't assume it makes you a better person... it just makes you different to the guy packing an SMG.

PPSH at large distance combat sucks

STG44 pwns at medium / close combat

so the gun whit more "phychological" effect will be the STG44 :bows:

Well the smiley face is to imply that I am half joking. I know the bolt has its advantages which makes it the "easier" choice in some situations. I should have added in CQC. You would have some balls to use an SMG on the open maps. :) However on CQC maps it seems everyone is an NCO. Safaki and the night map come to mind. I know SMGs are better for CQC but did 3 out of 4 soldiers have them on the island of Crete?

Bolts are not as difficult to play as in Red Orchestra, that's true. But bolt users do have larger balls and we all know it. And of course it makes us better persons..........

Yeah I know... wasn't aimed at you as such, just a general comment on the numerous people who take that stance on various game/mod forums. It's especially bad on the RO forums, which is ironic since the smg's are notoriously hard to use in that game! :Puzzled:

The 'original' FH1 one :P But the current one. But I agree, far too many times I sniped people with the Mp40 even a rifle would have trouble with o.O
