It hasn't JUST been the FH wiki entry that has been deleted, a lot of online-only entries (comics, other mods, etc) have been deleted as well.

This isnt about how reliable Wikipedia is or if its communist run or sponserd by alien terrorists from the helix nebula...its about a fun source for FH players to use. WE KNOW what the truth is. We know those maps and vehicles are really in the game and what is written is (or at least was) spot on. Its a shame.

ps. Yoss what are you doing here? Don't you have pink jammie time work to get back to?

What happened to the idea of a independant wiki for mods? Some people seemed willing to start one and from what I understand the wikipedia guys raised money for others to start independant wikis for free.

You might very well think that

The problem is that Wikipedia is NOT a 'fun source to use'. It sees itself as an encyclopedia. You would not be able to write a real encyclopedia based on what a lot of people say that they know without hard evidence (for some reason, DOWNLOAD THE MOD is not sufficient evidence), and thus articles based on uncited evidence are regularly deleted.

Well its absurd. I think the many articles and the FH website is enough to validate the mods existence and provide sources on the mods contents.

add to that this forum and over 200,000 posts...Wolf's FH forum and another 100,000 posts and few thousand members and we have wiki people telling us the sky is green with mauve polka dots.

Isn't there some place else you can compile and post all that useful info? I know the Project Reality mod has their own little wiki type thing going on.

It's a shame they deleted the FH stuff saying that the information was false and not relevant to be of any use. The same also applies to all the other sources in Wiki, even universities and schools don't use them because they say that the provided information is completely fake and made up entirely by fan-boys.

well, i was one of the few who fought to keep the FH wiki, but ultimatly failed because the Wiki gods would only throw their text book at me as oppose to listening to reason.... StrangerThanFiction, i believe has been working at reviving the FH wiki... though if it is still deleted than he's probably met the same success i did

i havn't really been back since they deleted FH but i hear from friends how they are automatically failed if they use Wikipedia as a source on reports since articales generally are made and run by fanboys, not scholars.... which is why Wikipedia was such a perfect place for comic book characters, video game mods, and other obscure factoids.... until they desided to take themselves seriously... they were probably under too much scrutany from teachers
