Thought I'd share one such incedent that happened yesterday.
I can't remember the map but it's the one with the northish point (of 4 ) being a blockhouse type affair, middle one a village and bottomr I'm not sure ( the 4th flag is nto far from the german base beyond the line of 3).
Anyway I was in a valentine and had planned and assisting in the assault of the blockhouse however as I neared it the middle base fell so I figured I'd provide some armour support to retake the base as our infantry where still in the area and I could see tanks approaching the base from the German side.
I moved therefore into the village at right angles to the main drag and poked my nose on the street at right angles on to the german armour. Helped dispose of it but took some damage so decided that staying there wasn't sensible and that facing any second attack was sensible.. so I pivoted my tank and bang... 3 brit's dead.
Turned out there was a minefield placed at the german end of the street and I had seen the flags ( planned on backing away from it once turned ) however it appears the minelayer had laid some of the mines such that any tank TURNING out of the alleyway was dead - and no flags indicated they extended that far down the street.
Needless to say made me go 'doh' as we'd just lost the only valentine ( till another respawned ) and it's not a tank you want to lose in a hurry.
In hindsite the minelayer should have kept the field up the road a bit or clearly flagged it further down so as to stop approach from the angle I came in.
Anyone else got similar.. 'doh' moments?
My moment like that isn't near as important but just as annoying. It was on Bardia.
Go to get the Brit No4 scoped and get beat to it because the other guy spawned on the weapon, anyways I'm pissed and contemplating TK-ing (Don't worry I don't TK for weapons even if I know I will be more useful with it) So I watch him start running for the Germans. And he does the one thing That made me wonder why He Just couldn't leave the rifle for me. He stays there shooting standing up, not even crouched. Finally after about 5 mins and getting about 2 kills a MG34 takes him out and he relinquishes control of it to me. And that way I enjoyed the rest of the map With 27 kills and 1 death. (Guy tripped my S-mine close to me after I ended up being trapped. Killed him and I was no more.)
Well, in our WaW scrim just yesterday (in EST terms), I had a few faulty nades both on Sfakia. One was a sticky nade up at the West Road flag (I noticed people unleashing chaos with the AT kit there, and decided to try it). So I get a few kills with one nade, but I throw my second so it sticks to the top of this cliff thing, but still facing the flag. It ended up bagging me and a teammate. A second was a Mills Bomb throw at the Upper Town flag. You guys know the cap zone where it extends to the balcony on the building with the ladder to get on it. Basically, I tried to use the right mouse button to get it up there, but I guess I held it down for a little too long, as the nade bounced off the wall above the balcony, and just couldn't get caught on the sandbags, so it just fell at my feet and lit myself and a team mate up.
Was on an 88mm at El Al, a brit truck moving in the distance towards me, I let loose with AP as a hope for lucky shot while switching to HE for the kill. By all chances, I hit it in the engine. Incinerated 6 of my teammates.
Oh, yes, and I almost forgot. Due to a lag glitch, I dropped a grenade right in the Sidi R. bunker...with 4 guys in it. Boom.

Leftclick is throw, right click is drop (to your feet). ;)

Actually right click is for powering the throw, the longer you hold it, the farther you will throw the nade. But yeah, if you just click it, it will drop at your feet.

Really? Sofar I only knew about "right click to drop it at your feet" and only used it for said prupose (drop and RUN).
Yeah, its really useful when using the sticky nade, you won't throw it until you let go of the button, so when the tank unexpectedly moves forward a few meters, you can close in again. Sort of a cooking effect, only the timer is not ticking (though the pin has been pulled)
Rightclick is useful when throwing sticky bombs, hold down the button and see the whole animation and then walk around until you find your target.
/edit: damn you
It could always have a "strength" meter...was there one in vBF2? I haven't played that game in a while:lookaround:.
