1. Crete 2. Iwo Jima 3. Seelow 4. Nordwind 5. Charlie
In no particular order: -Operation Nordwind (Beautiful map and good balance of woods for infantry and some open area for tanks) -Omaha Charlie Sector (Shows up the Dice version of Omaha for the utter piece of crap that it is) -Berlin 1945 (I've been a fan of the close quarter slaughterfest that is Berlin since vanilla. But I LOVE the addition of the second back alley out of Russian main in FH version so they dont get as totally pinned in their base as they would frequently in vanilla. Also a fourth German flag at bottom on other side of river was a nice touch) -Battle of Ortona ( I had one of my best, most intense games of FH EVER on this map. Just a fun map) -I guess Meuse River line would round out my top 5 list. Definitely my favorite new map from 0.67 version of FH. Honorable Mention: Tulagi Island. This is a BEAUTIFUL map!!!! Unfortunately so FEW servers play the fan map pack maps, and of those that do, so few run Tulagi. Because of this I could not list it in my definite top 5 because I haven't been able to play it enough(and with enough people) to be able to determine how good/bad it is playability wise? I think this map got a bad rap when it first came out in version 3 of the map pack because it lagged on a lot of people's machine's. But I heard Badseed changed some settings and it's not as bad in that regard now. Come on servers - give this map a chance!! Oh and by the way, I'm no Pacific map fanboy, believe me(as evidenced by my top 5 list). In fact I frequently leave servers when I see a pacific map is coming up next. But not if i saw Tulagi coming! I mean, actual JUNGLE on a pacific island map - what a concept!:D Professor Anthrax
No specific order...
Breakthrough...Alot of different things to do. Valarisk....I love stugs... Prok......again variety of stuff to do. Norwind....Good rifle battles combined with close battles. El Al....still a fav....shooting down Hurricanes and spits with a stuka is fun
Favs in order (somewhat): 1) Operation Nordwind 2) Counterattack 3) Arnhem 4) Rheinuebung 5) Battle of Foy Honorable Mention: Seelow Heights
Note: Don't just say "I love these maps, period, kthxbai!111", please. I'd really appreciate it if everyone said why they liked the maps they chose. 1. Fall Weiss. And I mean it. I love Fall Weiss. The old hardware, the map itself, the placement of the control points, everything. Except, maybe, from the fact that it's really a bit too forested for airplanes (but the airplanes themselves are neat!). Defending that eastern Polish flag with your two AT guns never gets old, not to mention making it an objective to capture, repair, and field the German AT half-track! 2. Arnhem. Street battles rule, in this map, at least. However, it has one big flaw: It can't be played Co-Op because the AI tanks will get stuck on the bridge, resulting in a traffic jam that just begs to be cleared by Allied AT fire:smokin:. Make a Co-Op version without all those wrecks on the bridge, please. 3. Rheinebung(spelling). It's like the Task Force Battle map for Galactic Conquest, only with World War II hardware (and conquest rather than objective-mode, of course). A great naval battle map. Those clumsy Allied recon planes aren't exactly a joy to fly, though, especially after you've been spoiled by GC's TIE Interceptors:D. They're historically accurate that way, though, I suppose, so don't change them. 4. FH Battle of Britain. The FH development team has done a splendid job on balancing this map and eliminating German parachute griefing. I love playing it as a British pilot or AA gunner, Co-Op as well as Conquest. Excellent job all around. Not to mention that it was the first time I tried FH aircraft, with their closing canopies, animated sticks, and cockpits that shook when you pumped out MG rounds. 5. Bombing the Reich. Another good air plane map. I especially like how the UK Lancester bomber can make such a difference. It's got some other good ideas like AA boats patrolling the British Channel (or whatever that water mass is). Meh, I haven't played a small fraction of the dozens of FH maps out there, so what do I know. But these are my favorites so far. Other goodies, or "honorable mentions", if you will: Kreta/Crete. Another incredible map. Getting to lash out with that big battery of 4 AA guns on Crete is an experience. That tiny map I forgot the name of(): It's a snow map that's only a few sectors wide and a few sectors long. The allies are assaulting a town on foot, and the Germans are trying to defend it. It's got Nebelwerfers and APCs, and I think the allies have artillery, too, but other than that it's infantry-only. There's a monastery to the North-East of the town. I'm sure at least someone knows which map I'm talking about.
-Berlin 1945 (I've been a fan of the close quarter slaughterfest that is Berlin since vanilla. But I LOVE the addition of the second back alley out of Russian main in FH version so they dont get as totally pinned in their base as they would frequently in vanilla.
I haven't played the FH version yet, but there is a "hidden" alley out of the Russian main base in the "Vanilla" version, too. Or is the alley-way in question yet another way into and out of the USSR base?

Thats the old Foy. It's not in fh.67 anymore.
second back alley out of Russian main
Safe Keeper, I believe you've missed a lot not having played FH's Berlin . So now there are 3 ways out of the Soviet base and there's an additional flag on the opposite side of the river
1) Goodwood 2) Prokhorovka 3) Arnhem 4) Nordwind 5) Makin
What's the 3rd way out of the Soviet main on Berlin? I've never noticed a 3rd way, care to elaborate? Other than this being a CQ infantry map it imo has always been a poor map representation wise.

Vanilla Berlin has the main(front way out) and then ONE back alley to the side of this front way. The FH version has an additional back alley on the opposite side of the main way out from the other back alley[Not sure if I'm phrasing this well - in other words, one alley on the left another on the right]. I didn't notice it until I had played it a couple times and saw people running that way and wondered where the hell they were going:D. I know Berlin seems to be one of those love it or hate it maps. I realize this one is on many people's "vanilla maps that need to be re-worked(obliterated?) list". I thought there was some thread I saw once about a "Berlin Streets" map or something like that. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Not sure if it was a dev project or some fan map. This was a few months ago I read about this so not sure if it just died a quiet death or what. I remembered seeing screenshots posted...oh well.
