I also think that linking guns would be the most reasonable solution, as it is already in FH. Crew would consist of much more people than there are on the server anyway.
'[BFEAdder']I do have a question however, the BF1942 engine had a hard limit on the number of seats per vechical. Does it apply to BF2's engine as well? Or hope aginst hope, are we going to finaly have that 20+ AA guns on carriers? Or will we still have to make do with the eight man limit(Just link the guns I say!)
No sory but its the same in BF2, you can only have 8 seats per vehical at all times. But most of the time only 6 is used because it can cause problems to have more, but 8 people per vehicle are possible.
Link the damned guns, I say. It looks great, works great, and gives the vehicle/vessel the fire-power it should have. It also means you don't have a vehicle that requires half a team to man.

If you would link guns how should the computer now were to intersect? It can only see in which direction you are aiming not how deep (thus howfar the target is your focusing on). The other guns could roughly aim in the direction but without knowing the distance to the target they can't know where they have to aim.
I don't see a problem in not having the weapons intersect in the first place, particularly not for area-damage weapons such as massed flak guns on ships. For guns that should intersect, have them intersect at a given point and leave it like that. I'd be happy with having it that way as it'd still do damage (4 flak guns not intersecting in a good way is still better than a lone flak gun).
I do agree that linking guns would help simulate 1000's of soldiers doing what they do, but as it was said befor they would not intersect properly and then not be realistic, but for gameplay and not realisme, link the guns.

Well, there should be a delay while loading AA guns--you should have to manually set the shells' range (with a console command, preferably...shell.setrange 300 for example--and in metric for all but American/British forces, while they use yards). Then, of course, you'd have a similar command to set gun convergence.
For every 5-round Bofors clip, naturally.
The thing with that is that, im sure alot of people would not want to take the time and estimate range and angle ect, they rather just point and shoot. By the time you get all that done and over with the plane is gone over and killed your own guys. But i like the realisme part of the idea so im neutral on this 1.
I thik that Fuzzy has been rather sarcastic on Donitz's post rather than willing to see those in game.;) Yay, 3000 posts!!!!!!
